Twisted_Animator wrote: »Well after over a year of waiting (complaint submitted June 2010), I got my calculation letter today - right on deadline! I had the upheld letter 2 weeks ago so didn't think it was likely I'd get the final calculation before the deadline, but I did - yay! Hopefully it wont be too long before they credit my account as I've sent the acceptance letter back today. (Anyone got their money from HSBC yet?)
I've been offered £2,572. I almost fainted when I saw that as I had no idea what I'd get, expecially as I had cancelled my PPI after 2 years into a 5 year loan! I can now pay off my career development loan 4 years early which will be a huge weight off my shoulders, especially as I have no income to pay the bills at the moment!
Anyway, thanks to everyone here. I could not have done it without all the advice and guidance that seems so plentiful on this website.
Good luck to everyone else waiting for a result.xxx
i recived my upheld letter 2 weeks ago, nothing in the post today so hopefully tommorow, can i just ask are they paying into your account or sending a cheque, thank you and once again well done:T:T:A:beer::A0 -
julieprit2 wrote: »Not at all :-) Sent my initial letter in October 2010 and then wrote back really quickly turning my complaint down. I wrote back straight away to say they hadn't investigated properly (the letter had incorrect facts and they had clearly misread my initial letter) and asked they reconsider.
It took from then, until I received my offer letters on Friday :j
Are you any further on with Lloyds?
Oh yes of course, you have waited a very long time, so glad it sorted now at last!:T:T
Well the other ones I send at the end of last year were successful and I'm just 5 weeks into the current ones with lloyds, so some time to go yet lol.
Will keep you all posted though and thank you for asking xx:A:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Amersall and Di,
Just want to say thank you very much for your responses re my posting this morning on the offer letter received this morning from Halifax. Amersall your advise sounds good to me particularly as this morning I rang Halifax and they are unable to give any calculations at this moment. So acceptance letter is winging its way to them as I type and will take it up with them at a later date if I dont agree with their calculations!!!
BIG FAT THANKYOU.
You are most welcome, its been our pleasure to help.:A:A
That is great news honey, Congratulations! xxThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Go easy on me please guys - although I’ve been watching this space for many months, this is my first time posting so I’m bound to make a mess of things somehow!
Anyway, I’ve currently got PPI claims in for both an old loan and a credit card with Lloyds TSB. However a friend has just asked a question which has got me thinking.... (maybe and probably) I’m being stupid but if I am already reclaiming PPI on a credit card, can I also dispute the charges against me i.e. over limit charges, late payment etc?
Hi and welcome
I am aware that you can, and you can do so separately, and if you require help on the charges side of it, then you can post up on the section for that here.
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=102
So have you also made a start on the reclaiming of the ppi as well?
Good luck on all your reclaiming and ask for any help anytime.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Omg, omg, omg, omg....not only did the decision letter arrive this morning my claim has been upheld in my favour to the tune of £4134.74 :j:j:j:j
To say I'm happy is an understatement !!!
I originally rang them on the 10th May this year to put in my claim after reading this thread, and had a reciept letter on 14th May. on May 31st I had a letter saying I should hear within 8 weeks and have been phoning them every fortnight for an update. I did also email the CEO of RBS a few weeks back although his reply was useless (suppose I was lucky to get one at all).
A big thank you to everybody on here for the great advice and support shared. If it wasn't for you guys RBS would still be above amount better off.
Have already posted my acceptance letter back so hopefully will be early xmas shopping in 28 days :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Good luck to everybody who are still awaiting decisions and payouts xxxxxxxx
WOW that is so fab! Well done and Congratulations
Oh yes of course, Xmas is not really all that far away really is it?:D:rotfl:

Today I have received 2 letters from Barclays for 2 references that I have not yet filled in the claim forms for as they are among the 19 that I am still waiting for loan details! No mention of the 3 forms already filled in. Both letter simply say the same:
Dear xxxx
In our previous letter, we promised to keep you updated on the progress of our investigation.
I'm sorry that our investifation is taking longer that(sic) expected and apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing you.
You now have the option to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service if you wish and I have enclosed a copy of thier leaflet, which includes details of how to contact them. However, I very much hope we will be able to resolve your complaint without you needing to do this.
Thank you for your continued patience....
No leaflet for FO was enclosed!!!!! Er - do I just leave it for now, and await their response?
Hi there
It seems that these and other banks are having difficulties in keeping up with the backlogs, despite the extra time given from the FSA, but personally I would sit it out a little longer, as the FOS can take some time and even a year to resolve, but hopefully with it meaning that you have not heard anything yet, it will hopefully be a good outcome, so fingers crossed for you.
You do though have the option of the FOS, so that is up to you of course and I can't understand how they missed enclosing the leaflet, yet that did happen with one of mine.
Hope you hear soon, good luck x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi there & Welcome
Its possible they are late and with the bank holiday as well, however this seems to be the case for many at the moment and they are having a job to keep up despite been given extra time by the FSA.
Personally I would wait until the end of the week and if you've received nothing by then, call them again, email even to the CEO where they may respond quicker, good luck x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
