    Hi Deanofrancisco

Do you have the telephone number available please? I'd love give them a ring!
  • hi
letter i received from fos stated , you had to give fos 2 weeks to contact the bank to tell them that you want to go ahead with the uphold , then the bank had up to 8 weeks to sort it all out , this was also verified by the fos this morning

Where did you get the "10 weeks from upheld" from?

With my RBS claim, FOS told me 28 days to begin (in writing) with but then said (in an email) the time allowed had been increased to 8 weeks (this was only in late July)

RBS have had my claim since Aug 2010. I know yours was sent in July. Is there anyone on here with an older claim than yours? Last time I phoned them I told them I was being made redundant later this year and would like to get my finances in order so would appreciate it if they could deal with complaints in the way they said they would - ie in date received order. "No chance of us being made redundant" was the reply "We're stashed out with work!" Pardon me if I did not think that was a suitable reply. They have a lot to learn about customer care, but maybe after this fiasco they won't have any customers left!

I have emailed Hester and am waiting for a reply. I havent heard of any claims older than mine for a loan. They just didnt do any initial investigating because they knew they were taking the court action. They told me they were trying to speak to the person who had sold me the loan and I pointed out I knew she no longer worked for them and that was the last I heard from them apart from the usual computer generated guff about being on hold. They are a disgrace and I cant wait to close my account!
  • Hii

I have accepted my offer from Lloyds TSB for £2400 in settlement of my loans. Have spoken with them and was able to get a little bit more information on my loans i.e. start date, end date and length of loan etc. but would need to write off for it and to be honest, I can't be bothered waiting any longer.

My loans were £3000 in 1996 and this was for 2 years and I then took out another one for £5000 in 1998, paying off the first loan. I have absolutely no docs and DPA department have already told me due to length of time, they couldn't provide me with a breakdown so just accepted the offer to finalise it all today.

My worry was that had I got the docs, it may have worked out less than the offer and to be honest I wasn't expecting any offer so am happy enough :j cheques should be with me in 3 weeks :j

Still nothing from Barclays so hope to hear from them this week too with a final decision!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your help :A:A:A as I definitely wouldn't have pursued this if it wasn't for this site. I had received a "no" letter in October 2010 so a follow up letter and a lot of patience and I am now £2400 up

Our business loan was taken out in November 2002 with Lloyds TSB and repaid in February 2005.
We have had a registered compliant with the FOS since 2009. In July 2011 we received a letter from them which stated our complaint had been upheld and an offer would be made within 10 weeks. We are still waiting. I spoke to the FOS on Friday last and they stated that we should contact them again if we have not heard from Lloyds TSB by 19th September.
We are confused about the difference between PPI and BLRI (Busines Loan Repayment Insurance). Are the calculations for recompense the same?

These are our figures...is there anyone who can help as to what our offer should be?

    Loan £95,000
Arrangement Fee £1425.00 (added to loan)
    Legal Fee £190.00
BLRI Premium £23233.44 (added to loan)

Interest Rate Currently 7.00% per Annum (as at 2002)
    Debited Monthly @ 0.58%
    Credit Period 180 months

    Number of repayment 180
    Repayment of Frequency Monthly
    Loan Repayment £866.70
    BLRI Repayment £208.83
    Total Repayment £1075.53

As I said we cleared the loan in March 2005 and we were credited with £16774.49 Business Loan Insurance Refund.

    Any help much appreciated

Sorry, just want to bump this. Is there anybody with a mathematical brain that can help? Many thanks

    Hi Neru,

well, on basic calcs you would get:

    £208.83 x 27 (Nov 02' to Feb 05') = £5638.41

8% total on those 27 payments from the date each was made = £3,620.51

So that would give you a total owed of £9,258.92

The above is very simplistic and makes no allowance for the PPI rebate paid on the total that was added to your loan at the start, but it gives a "ball park" figure that I would use to question them if the amount they offer is lower than this

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Not at all :-) Sent my initial letter in October 2010 and then wrote back really quickly turning my complaint down. I wrote back straight away to say they hadn't investigated properly (the letter had incorrect facts and they had clearly misread my initial letter) and asked they reconsider.

It took from then, until I received my offer letters on Friday :j

Are you any further on with Lloyds?

    Many thanks for that !
What I cant get my head around is what part the amount of £6458.95 (difference between what was paid up front and what was refunded) plays (if any) in the calculation ?
