Hi,
I have to say that you have been a member for some 3 months and in that time you have made a total of 2 posts
That in itself is no problem, as there are plenty of long time lurkers that stay here just to get some info but dont feel confident in posting, but....
1 post that directly names a CMC and a 2nd one that gives that same CMC's contact number?
Call me cynical but I'm a little concerned about your motives in posting here (mod's please note I have censored the CMC's name in my quote)-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Hi,
it's a bit difficult for us to comment without the full figures and dates for the amounts you paid on the PPI
If you can post those, we can give it a crack
Did the card reach a 0 balance at any time throughout the card lifetime? (this is the only situation that is likely to create a credit balance (the £0 balance + the PPI refund to that date) to enable 8% interest to be due as compensation
-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

Just about to start on a complaint on my husband's Virgin Card (long since closed). Not sure whether to send a SAR first. Did you have a copy of the agreement before putting in your complaint?
Can I ask when you opened this account and the address you sent the complaint to.
Sorry for all the questions but all advice is very much appreciated!:A
Thank you!
I did not have a copy of the agreement, just some old statements. I put in the complaint form that, to the best of my knowledge, I applied online. This is what I recall doing. I had other credit cards at that time, none of which had PPI, as I do remember being aware of what it was. I was really surprised to see it on the old Virgin statements! I guess I didn't really examine them at the time (I was not very finance savvy in those days and was juggling too many cards!!!)
I opened the account in 2004.
The address I posted the complaint to was:

The Customer Advocate Office
PO Box 1004
Chester Business Park
Wrexham Road
Chester

Hope that helps!0 -
Hi All and please excuse my newness!
Our business loan was taken out in November 2002 with Lloyds TSB and repaid in February 2005.
We have had a registered compliant with the FOS since 2009. In July 2011 we received a letter from them which stated our complaint had been upheld and an offer would be made within 10 weeks. We are still waiting. I spoke to the FOS on Friday last and they stated that we should contact them again if we have not heard from Lloyds TSB by 19th September.
We are confused about the difference between PPI and BLRI (Busines Loan Repayment Insurance). Are the calculations for recompense the same?
These are our figures...is there anyone who can help as to what our offer should be?
Loan £95,000
Arrangement Fee £1425.00 (added to loan)
Legal Fee £190.00
BLRI Premium £23233.44 (added to loan)
Interest Rate Currently 7.00% per Annum (as at 2002)
Debited Monthly @ 0.58%
Credit Period 180 months
Number of repayment 180
Repayment of Frequency Monthly
Loan Repayment £866.70
BLRI Repayment £208.83
Total Repayment £1075.53
As I said we cleared the loan in March 2005 and we were credited with £16774.49 Business Loan Insurance Refund.
Any help much appreciated
Sorry, just want to bump this. Is there anybody with a mathematical brain that can help? Many thanks0 -
RBS have had my claim since Aug 2010. I know yours was sent in July. Is there anyone on here with an older claim than yours? Last time I phoned them I told them I was being made redundant later this year and would like to get my finances in order so would appreciate it if they could deal with complaints in the way they said they would - ie in date received order. "No chance of us being made redundant" was the reply "We're stashed out with work!" Pardon me if I did not think that was a suitable reply. They have a lot to learn about customer care, but maybe after this fiasco they won't have any customers left!
Not quite connected but FOS have had our claim since October 2009 and we are still waiting.0 -

bingobella wrote: »can i ask what was your reasons for mis-selling, ive just called MBNA -Virgin this morning and had a rejection they said i ticked for ppi and ive signed the agreement. off to the FOS i go!
I wrote that I did not recall ever opting in or taking an active decision to take out PPI. I wrote that to the best of my knowledge I applied online (as this is what I recall doing). I also wrote that I ran into difficulties paying the balance on this card, but Virgin/MBNA never gave me the option to remove the PPI, even though I had made it clear that I needed to reduce the interest as much as possible. In fact, I recall one advisor saying that I needed the PPI more because I was having difficulties making the payments!0
