Hi All ,
I am a new customer concidering taking a sky package to consolidate my current BT & Broadband costs that almost mount up to the monthly costs of Sky.
I would clearly like the plus box or may even the HD box if this will work with a std TV as not planning to get HD set till Jan in sales I hope.
I have found the following offers dixons no strings £75 includes installation for 4 months but this is just a sky box.
Go via quidco £125 cash back if it tracks sky plus box £99
£30 install £129 in total 12 month contract.
Any one suggest any other options, I quite like the 4 month contract could then sell box and get sky plus box .

With sky broadband, do you have any option if you do not want to go wireless? Thanks0
-
yes, just plug straight into the Lan port of the router and off you go
you can go into the admin panel of the router and disable the wireless if you wishEx forum ambassador

Ive just moved from 3 seperate companies for phone, broadband and sky, to getting the see surf speak package with sky.
Phone is fab, broadband is fab and Ive still got the same price to pay to Sky £38! So Ive saved £14.99 a month for broadband and on my phone too!
I went for the free phones at weekend and evenings and base broadband which is 2mb (same as I was on before but FREE now)
Was doubtful at first about sky but Im happy with it so far..................:money: Martin Lewis Rocks!:money:0 -
thanks for rhe reply glad to hear you find Sky broadband ok as that did concern me, I am a lomg way from the exchange so I will neve get better than 2mg so the free option is fine for me.
I just found out that there is a refer a friend offer on till the 14th Dec if a friend or some one you know is with sky you get Sky plus box and what ever package you opt for and friend gets free Sky Plus box as upgrade or £50 M&S vouchers.
Now that would be really good if I could combine that with £125 cash back via quidco might be worth a shot.

I have just obtained a MAC code from BT after having lots of problems with wireless connection. Not sure why,but when we started using a laptop about a month ago, we couldnt connect using wireless, it was then a 45 min call while the tech support guys connected us, only for wireless connection to be lost 3-4 days later and not being able to connect until another 45min call! this went on
Anyway I'm thinking of giving Sky bb a go! £5 for sky connect as cannot get mid or max in area. so questions!!
1) will i get similar speed as BT (4.5Mbps)
2) is sky bb good and is the tech support number cheap or expensive
3) I'm not keen on the £30 activation fee, could i bargain with them if I say I'm undecided between sky bb and orange bb and orange dont charge activation (cheeky!)
thanks guys!0 -
id guess that the wireless problem is not BTs fault, which is why it takes so long to sort each time. turning everything off and back on should sort it quickly.
sky dont have the best reputation for service or support, but if you dont expect much a fiver a month is very cheap. bear in mind that generally you do get what you pay for.
bear in mind your signing to a 12 month contract, its a long time to regret a bad decision.
Perhaps post your question on a board dedicated to sky users to get a more informed answer?Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
Sky broadband Connect is a re branded BT product.
Don't know where you got the idea that its £5.00/month.
http://broadband.sky.com/showmeskybroadband.htm
It costs £17.00/month, unless Sky is planning to LLU at your exchange within 6 months or so.

Hi
Been thinking about getting the currently advertised Sky see, speak.surf package at £19 p/month. I'm currently with BT option 3 for the phone and with Tiscali (i know i know:rolleyes: ) at £12.99 for broadband and only have a freeview box for digital tv.
Has anyone else switched to this package from their current providers, did it go smoothly changing over etc. It seems like a good deal so far and its going to save some cash per month but would like to get some feedback from others who have tried it :beer:0 -
just wondered if u still need bt lanline for this package?0
