I hope it has been a better week for you & OH Victory :)

Routine and baby steps is about as much as you can hope to achieve at this stage.

Yes that is true, that is all we can do at the moment. OH is pretty much the same, it takes him an absolute age to get out of bed/to turn to be able to get into the sitting position so things can take a long time, he can get dressed now, well I may be exaggerating that statement a tadge but eventually yes he can get dressed, even if it takes best part of the day.

Day by day with a routine in place things are a lot easier, when he is up, before you know it is lunch and meds and then sleep and dinner more meds, pretty much static at the moment

Sounds daft but static sounds a major improvement, at least a routine you know where you are. Hope the boys ok, how's things with ds2.

Make sure u take some time out for yourself xxx

Kids are very adaptable, DS 2 seems to be quite settled and happy, he knows that eventually it will be dad back he just has to put the work in, wait the time, DS2 still pats him on the head, obviously misses the hugs and his dad but he knows we are nearly 2 months down the line now, change will happen:)

OH is asleep now so on here for a bit, that is time out for myself;)

    Hi Victory

    Thanks for the update.

A work colleague's partner was injured just before Christmas in an accident (though nowhere near as seriously as your partner) and I advised her to note in a book what he can do day by day. You may not have the time to do this but thought I would mention it. I've never been in your position but I imagine Mr Victory doesn't see that he's improving, even if it's a tiny bit day by day. Obviously if he perceives a lack of improvement then this will not benefit his mental health, or yours.

You mention he can now get dressed which he couldn't do before, which is a huge milestone.

I hope that's of some help.

Thinking of you and wishing you all well.

Hello everyone:) went with OH to the docs as he is making crackling noises inside his lungs and his blood has not stopped, the doc says that the blood can be a small amount of blood gathering inside the outer cavity of his lungs and the cracking could be a trapped air pocket in his lungs/rib cage, so on friday we are going to go to a chest expert to see which one of these things he has or if it is something else and what can be done about it all.

OH says that he would have had less trauma to himself if he had been put through a blender:eek:

Victory - this may sound mad but keep an eye on your weight. Not meant you need to diet, I got weighed today at gp since last August - when ours kicked off - I have lost 30kg or in old money 2stone 3 lbs - lowest weighed since 2002 - as the weight now what I was just before I had dd for me I need to lose the weight that's without even thinking of dieting just wanted to say take care. Xx

I know the reason for going to the doctor was not a good one but WOW, Mr Victory went to the doctors :T :T :T

That is a huge step in the right direction.

Awww that is really wonderful for you but no loss for me at all:) OH has not gained as much as we would like, you can still see some of his bones but not all of them, he seems to be able to manage to keep eating and not loose it through the side effects of some of his meds:o
