Why does his boss seem so keen to have him back to work, does he realise just what Mr v has been through?
Yes I am sure he does, he has the discharge papers with him along with the sick note from the doc, it just seems to me that obviously no one is filling OH place and the work is mounting up, he would be no use unless he would be allowed to sleep on the job:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
victory, no one expects you to keep coming here to give us updates, your most important thing is to be with your hubby and family. That said, it is very nice to hear from you.
Your life has changed some what now, one day you will look back on all all this and wonder how you coped, which you are doing very well:T
Just remember everyone on here thinks about you, your hubby and kids a lot, xxTreat other's how you like to be treated.
Harry born 23/09/2008
New baby grandson, Louie born 28/06/2012,
Proud nanny to two beautiful boys :j
And now I have the joy of having my foster granddaughter becoming my real granddaughter. Can't ask for anything better
UPDATE,
As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted0 -
I thoroughly concur with Harry's Nan's post, Victory - I haven't sent you any PMs because I didn't want to add more pressure to what you are going through - but I'm thinking of you and your family every day - just pop back here when you have time - don't put more pressure on you than you need - but it can be a great escape when you need it xxxxx0

Thank you for all your PM's very much appreciated as always:D I will try to come back more often, each day seems to roll into each other and have no time other than for OH:)
It's good to hear that OH is making progress even if it is limited
This is the tough period that everyone was warning you about, the period where you might start to feel a little isolated in the effort to care for OH.
Have you seen about someone to come in one or two days a week so that you can escape for a while?
Even an afternoon away from the pressure, getting out of the house for a while to re-charge your battery.0 -

Thanks thorosoak
I have been told to sleep when OH sleeps as often I am up 2/3 times in the night and have not apart from one 11 hour total sleep not had 1 uninterrupted night in a month and a half. That works well to a degree but it's hard for the body clock to adjust and causes lack of night sleep if there's too much day sleep, as well as not being able to drop everything and automatically shut down and sleep in the afternoon.
I was always good at multi tasking but now I excel at it:D I even surprise myself I go and do something and it turns out along the way I've already done it.... Bonus:)
I do things much quicker now and 1 after the other so in one swoop I get 5 tasks done instead of 1 or 2.
I don't have a duvet day as someone suggested because I'm always on call, it's hard to switch off, it's demanding and needs pretty much 24/7 full attention.
We were offered a 30 min visit from nurse for a wash/ dress/ bandage change/ bone check/ exercise monitoring/ shave/ hair wash type of thing but then nurse/ docs showed me the exercises, how to best move him, shower ( albeit a sponge wash) the other things like dress I can do.
He has to have a lung performance breathing test in a week or two.
Sons help but they have school and jobs, Oh friends help but they have work etc, mostly yeah it's me. No one else does the nights.
I'm going out tomorrow though, it is good for me it's good to breath in fresh air take a huge breath in and be out for a little bit, whilst out I can't do whatever it is fast enough to get back to check OH but that's normal, to be expected.0 -
His boss rang him to see if he was coming back, what the care package plan for his return would be, he said he would ring again next week
Does his boss realise just how seriously your OH was injured?
Realistically, isn't it going to be months rather than weeks before he can think about work?0 -
Sorry to hear about the infection and the blood in the wee
. I am really pleased though they managed to find and sort the blockage though as that must have been causing him so much pain (and no doubt contributed to his weight loss). Hopefully now that has been sorted you can build him up a bit. I know liquid food, soups and jelly babies have been discussed already.
I just wanted to send my best wishes (which seem so inadequate at a time like this).
Wishing you all the best.

Victory - you are coping so well. you probably don't realise how well! and don't worry about others, they will all understand your focus is on OH now! as it should be.
We miss you on here! but we understand too that you cant post as much as you used to.
People tend to think that once a person comes home from hospital then they are 'OK'. They aren't. most recuperation now is at home and that can take time, a LOT of time. so the carers are run ragged taking the place of what would have been a team of healthcare professionals!
be gentle with yourself too Vic. look after yourself!0
