Debt busting into 2015, but not beyond!

Wow that is big news! Congratulations PBS, that does sound like an exciting opportunity, hope it all works to plan for you in the run up to France.

Oh God, where to begin?
After dropping the big "We're going to France!" bombshell, I got all scared and ran away (sorry). I was full of doubts. 'Am I doing the right thing?' 'Is it selfish?' 'Is it too risky?' 'Staying in work would be more sensible' I was in turmoil.
But I did some soul searching and realised that I want to do this, I really, REALLY want to do this. So there's nothing for it, I have to be brave and find a way to make it work. So monz, MeandO, Dobbibill, OrangeFairy, lcc86 - thanks for the congratulations and the encouraging words. Please keep them coming as I really need them right now!
Yes, it will be tricky. And actually even more so now that I feel that I have pasted my self into a corner emotionally in regards to work.
To cut a long story should I have been 'invited' to a formal review of my sickness absence by my manager. In a 12 moth period I have missed 19 days due to anxiety, 6 days due to physical illness and 9 days due to getting run over by a car. The last 12 months have been tough, and I have really struggeled at times. The message from my manager is clear, 'You can't be ill anymore' - which if anything is likely to make my anxiety even more difficult to manage. I couldn't get to sleep last night for replaying the meeting over in my mind. It is sucking any pleasure out of the job and making me feel thoroughly miserable.
So I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row as quickly as possible. I've just sent an email about some missing pension contributions. I need to claim £60 for glasses prescription and book the dentist asap (these are because I can claim the cost back to a work-based health care policy)
The BIGGIE is that I really need to sort out the paperwork for my compensation claim relating to getting run over. This could be the answer to our immediate problems.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

It's ok to be scared  and also to question yourself....But I did some soul searching and realised that I want to do this, I really, REALLY want to do this.
If this is the answer when all the soul searching is done then sometimes you have to follow your heart and gut instinct. Life is too short for ifs, buts and maybes!!!I couldn't get to sleep last night for replaying the meeting over in my mind. It is sucking any pleasure out of the job and making me feel thoroughly miserable.
Try not to replay it over and over as nothing will change by doing this (I know this is easier said than done) try and focus your thoughts and dreams on your your new life that is waiting for you to grab by the horns. http://static.moneysavingexpert.com/images/forum_smilies/biggrin.gif

Thanks DobbiBill and OrangeFairy I know I MUST STAY POSITIVE! It is my mantra at the moment. I am also trying to remember that 'What I want' and 'What I want NOW!' are not the same thing at all. And, if I have 'What I want NOW!', it will more than likely mean that I can't have 'What I want' iyswim?
Work is a case in point. Last week after my horrible meeting I was 99% ready to hand in my notice 'I don't need this carp in my life!', I thought. But actually, in the short term, I actually do. I need to stay in work for 3 more months or we can't really afford to go to France, which is 'What I want'.
So - YAY! - I have done the drudge and I have made it through another week. One weeks more salary for the saving pot and one more week closer to pay day. I CAN DO THIS!
Next week is going to be a toughie though. DH is in the US for a week which means I'll be flying solo here at PBS towers. I only have to go into the office for two days and my parents will help out with the kids on those days, so it should be too hard (hopefully!)
DH gets paid on Thursday and we'll do a bit of a money audit then. Hopefully we can put some into savings, but we'll have to see.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Another week has passed and I managed to get through it without handing in my notice. I'm still trying to take it one day at a time. I try and think that each day that passes is an extra £80 in the savings pot. So far it is working. I know I can get to next Thursday (payday) and after that, who know? One day at a time is all I need at the moment.
DH is in the US, he left on Saturday morning and is getting home on Sunday lunchtime. I am missing him SO much! The colour seems to go out of our life without him.
He did get paid just before he left and we managed to put £800 of his pay in to the savings pot. We both get paid next week and I hope to be able to put enough away to get to 50% of our first savings goal. We also have a meeting with the financial adviser that week and hopefully we can get DH's pension sorted out then.
No more news on France yet. I have sent my paperwork off and I am just waiting to here what school I have been allocated to. I should hear by the end of the month.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

PAY DAY! Glorious pay day! Not that I can log in and do any online banking after losing my card last week... Still, I ordered a new one today and it should be here in 3-5 days. Annoyingly my pay slip says that I haven't received any childcare vouchers this month :O They were due to stop next month, so now I have to reactivate them for July and August instead
grrr

Still no bank card. I have £1300 sitting in my account and can't log in and move it around. Also DH was due to get paid on Thursday too and he hasn't been paid  He's going to email them on Tuesday if he hasn't been paid by close of play Monday. Our mortgage goes out on Wednesday, so hopefully both of these issues are sorted by then.
In more positive news, we had the interest and cashback added to the Santander account today, a whooping £22.36 in total! Really chuffed with this.
I have sent off the claim for £60 for my glasses and I have work expenses of £72 to claim too. DH has work expenses too but I'm not sure how much. I have also reactivated the childcare vouchers for next month.
We have a busy month in July. We have a wedding, DH has the stag do and I am going to Leeds to see Europe's Strongest Man with an old friend form uni. It'll be interesting to see if we can still manage to keep our spending under control with all of these distractions.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746
