Good news on the pay rise PBS, even if it is only a little. I think I had around £1.60 extra this month lol!
Am very impressed with your mortgage overpayments too. Hope I can get to that point soon as well.

    Lots of love

Hi Dobbibill and MeandO, oh yes, every little helps! It will either be 1% or 1.75% but I won't find out until payroll write to us all. I have decided rather than getting used to the extra money, I'll just up my pension contributions and keep my take-home pay the same.

First day back in work today. I did my expenses for Feb and March, which come to £376! I hope they process them quickly as I'm skint; I just tipped over into my overdraft today by a few a few pounds.

£35 landed in my account from WeBuyBook, so I sent that over to the mortgage. I have another £30 outstanding, which I'll get this week and I'll send that to the mortgage too. The good news is that we will leave the £70,000's in April and head down into the £60,000's. It will be a nice psychological boost for us I think. The plan is to get into the £50,000s before the end of 2015. It should be doable on our current projections.

Just got to keep the faith and don't give into spending temptation!

  • So, today I spent nearly £300 !

    £202 = deposit (50%) on new glasses!
    £34 = various work 'kittys'
£34 = bowling with DH and the kids
    £20 = diesel
    £7 = train ticket

I can claim back £60 towards my glasses from work. And I had £100 in my savings, which I 'liberated' today, but I am still well and truly into my overdraft now :( Fingers crossed that work processes my expenses quickly.

In other news... DH still not been paid  He has paid the car tax on his CC and we'll need to pay that off next month. We also still need to book a hotel for his brother's wedding in a few weeks time and get them a gift.

First day of April! Interest on both our ISA's has been paid! Nice £45 on mine and £70 on DH's! I also received £27 cash back today. I transferred my £45 and the £27 to the mortgage.

I don't know why but I get more of a thrill transferring £73 to the mortgage than I get when I transfer £1000. Maybe it is because the smaller amounts are all 'extra' earnings and so they feel like a bonus, but the £1000's are 'mine' from my salary? Either way it feels odd.

Virgin have messed up DH credit card some how. He has a 0% deal until September and pays a fixed amount of £25 a month. Today they took £49. When he logged in to have a look they have charged him £23 interest in March and also £9 late payment charge! I don't see how this can be possible when he pays by direct debit. He rang them and the woman on the phone was clueless. 'Someone' is going to ring in the next 5-7 working days...

    In other news...

DH has STILL NOT BEEN PAID! It's getting really annoying now.

I booked the hotel for his brother's wedding at the princely sum of £95 for one night with no breakfast!

My laptop, which is still under warranty, is broken and I took it to be repaired today. They said the fault might not be covered by the warranty.

Only 23 days until pay day :rotfl:

Enjoying a really productive and relaxing bank holiday weekend. Almost finished giving our bedroom a thorough declutter and spring clean. We've been doing it a little bit at a time so it doesn't feel like 'work'. I have 'Kondo-ed' all my clothes and despite being a sceptic I now think the folding method is brilliant. We have a huge filing cabinet / cupboard in our bedroom and I'd really like to tackle that next.

Nothing to report on the money front. DH has still not been paid and I haven't received my expenses. But it's ok, we don't really 'need' anything yet.
Hope everyone is having a lovely a weekend.

Good news is that DH has been paid! Yay! Bad news is that his pay is £150 less than expected due to the exchange rate :( Boo! There is nothing that we can do about this and he has benefited more than lost out over the last year, so it would be unfair to grumble. He has done the money 'hokey-cokey' so we are all set for May's bills.

I still haven't received my expenses, although I checked with my manager that he has received them. It is probably taking longer than usual as a result of the end of the financial year 'panic'.

Received no extra money from any other sources, so haven't been able to make anymore mortgage over-payments.

Although I haven't received the promised letter, I have worked out that my pay-rise is 1.75%, not the 1% that was also possible. This is good news and I'm happy with that obviously. Annoyingly though, for technical reasons, it only gets applied to 90% of my pay.

  • DH is off on a stag do in Brighton tonight and I am holding the fort

I had a lovely day with the kids. We caught the bus to town (£7.30!) Got the kids feet measured - DD gone up half a size and DS gone up a whole size  We'll buy new shoes on Sunday when DH is back (I haven't got enough money :o) Then we went and got DS's hair cut. (£5) Had lunch in the kids favorite place (£7.80) We got a little present for DH (£1.50) Returned some library books. Got the bus back and went to the nearby indoor soft play (£8)

I called the council to come and remove our extra bin and replace our stolen recycling boxes. They should be here next week.

I had my P60 and DH had a letter from Virgin saying they are investigating his complaint and it might take up to 4 weeks to resolve

12 days til pay day
