Back to work and it's looking even worse.

People spent several hours 'revising' figures yesterday and have sent me a huge list of things that they've supposedly saved (with bragging words to Head of IT). Only problem is, there's no data, no working or method, literally just statements saying that specific, numeric masures are now resolved. That's not how percentages work, this is madness...

    Been offered a job interview!

Really daft question, but I have to deliver a 7 minute presentation based on a work, study or home project. Could I do something a bit different and deliver a presentation on how I completely changed my fish tank? Thought it might be a change and could have funny photos along with points tied to competencies like planning, organising, delivering at pace, dealing with problems and error checking.

Or am I barking up the wrong sunken diver? :o

    Well done Ed :T :T :T
wishing you well with the interview and presentation

sorry I can't advise on a presentation (never had to do one for interview) I would think it's about how it's delivered and whether they understand all the facts and figures on a topic they have never had the information on prior to that day. Good luck ;)

i would enjoy your presentation tbh ... its something different and still shows the skills that you have... not only that but that you recognise them and use them in places not only at work .. indicating you are very self aware :)

but maybe i am not the right person to ask lol

    Fab news on the interview.

Re the topic - they'll be interested in how you take a subject, break it down and communicate. The fish tank would be more fun than most I imagine.

Is there a way you can weave some of the challenges they have (if you know them) into the tank presentation? This will enable those interviewing you to see how you can help them.

Good luck with the interview - lovely news on a Friday.

Despite having no accountability for any of the content or outcomes of our reporting, I have been firmly placed as this month's scapegoat. Apparently it's all my fault.
    • I have been instructed to provide a full breakdown of everything I do at work and exactly how long it takes
    • I have been moved to the 'naughty step' (a desk in the middle of the room)

    The:
    • Lack of management
    • Lack of meetings
    • Lack of communication
    • Refusal to participate
    • Rudeness
    • Refusal to take ownership for failing services
    • Lack of strategy

Is nothing to do with it

I have made a decision. I will either have accepted a new job, or will tender my resignation one month from today :)
