It's a beautiful sunny day, even if it is Monday.

    It's sunny down here too

I sold some DVD box sets on behalf of a friend and they did well, so you might get a good result on that listing

    Hi Mr E,

I'm feeling a bit inspired from reading your diary. Been working all day and I'm knackered, but your efforts do go to show that financial freedom is possible, even though it may well take a bit more effort beyond work.

So I am now looking into matched betting with a bit more interest and enthusiasm than I have done so in the past, having just spent half an hour on swagbucks for a rather measly return of what I have just worked out comes to 88p. Here's hoping matched betting pays a little bit better. :-)

I'm glad that I've been of any assistance :)

I started at some point in March. £1500-2000 since then. Stuff surveys. £70 profit since Saturday, most of that wasn't even bets that I had to think about, just random free spins etc.

I'm just waiting on Ed's Idiot Guide.......... Not that I'm hinting or anything......

Since I read Mr Ed's postings from yesterday I've been mulling something over, and it's not about anything as 'advanced' as matched betting.

    It's cash back sites.

I've never used these sites - every time I investigate, I feel put off by all the posts I see about payments not tracking, and the whole thing looks bothersome.

Is it really like that, or do most transactions go smoothly, and the cash back is received with no trouble?

I really want to use these sites, but I need to get over this mental block that I have!

Most track fine (in my experience) and those that don't - a couple of chasing 'tickets' to support usually sorts it. if you look at cashback as a bonus if you were buying the item from there anyway then the odd failure (I've had one total fail in 3 1/2 years) is worth it. I've had over £1000 from cashback sites (about £1400 in total, I think) - a decent amount of free money when it relates to things I'd buy anyway. You can make more if you chase all the no spend required things but I can't be bothered to do that and just use it for my purchases :)http://static.moneysavingexpert.com/images/forum_smilies/biggrin.gif

In my experience everything normally goes smoothly and I started to use them for things like car or home insurance (the annual purchases I would do anyway and always went for the best cover pre-cashback so any cashback was viewed as a bonus AFTER the choice of cover, meaning I was always on a winner)
Although it is never guaranteed if something hasn't tracked you have an option at the top to 'raise a dispute'. This may take a few days/weeks to be confirmed but the cashback site contacts the retailer to confirm the purchase and it is paid into your CB account. I've made quite a few purchases this way and have no problem with CB.
If you use the CB website as a toll bridge with the view to money back instead of paying for the journey then that's all it is, is the route to the destination. A destination you would have arrived at anyway.
    Hope this helps ;)
