My sister had an interview a few years back. It was for some sort of job at a ski resort so not as serious / important or well paid as anything you would be looking for but they were asked in the interview to do something that would keep the guests entertained in the event of a serious snow storm, she decided to teach everyone to make an origami Christmas tree, it was such an original idea, the interviewers loved it and she got offered the job, she turned it down and they offered her a better job with their flag ship resort. She declined this as well but having a little bit of originality can really make you remembered and that's half the battle.

    1. You are instantly recognisable to anyone at your work. Be careful

This worried me, I can see how it's true, I've PMed you as I suspect that someone knows me in real life.

    2. It won't change anything, and I plan on walking before I'm pushed
    3. I'm actually quite good in small group scenarios/close interactions, it's one of my stronger points
    4. Noted

'Gentle yellow' with brilliant white ceiling and cornice, white gloss skirting boards. Was picked as a gender-neutral baby-friendly combo and is quite warm and cheery :)

Not convinced that it's 'gentle', but very nice all the same. The first coat is nearly done, starting the second ceiling coat in an hour.

Not talking about work stuff with any specificity because I fear that I've lost my anonymity, but if I end up not working for a few months I have committed to Mrs E to replace all of our remaining plastic light switches with the nice brass ones we started using when we moved in, along with some other basic DIY.

A few small treats arrived from Am@azon today, I've got a book of essays from the founder of Vanguard, a travelogue about a food tour of Japan and some choral music... that makes me sound like a total sad sack :rotfl:

Listening to Runrig and feeling very relaxed.

Work sounds total pants :( but you have received some wise words above :)

Yellow bedrooms are very cheery - I think all 4 of our lot have yellow rooms to start with. We also used to have a yellow bedroom - but that was very 90s Laura Ashley stuff! :)

Painting almost finished, just gloss and touchup to cornices to go.

I really need to go shopping and run today, we've got precious little done bar the decorating.
