so do I complain now or afterwards?0

Then they lie to you and tell you Virgin don't have things they do or can't do things they can, don't even get them started on BT.
They absolutey do lie . They told me Virgin's multiroom boxes would only be freeview ones. They said they don't have full HD ( no idea what that's supposed to mean ). They told me they only cover repairs for the years warranty, I would have to pay after that . I have a Virgin leaflet through the door , quite clearly states no repairs or service charges all the time you are with us , also on the website.
I don't know what Virgin media would make of the blatant lies they tell, unless they do the same to Sky of course.0 -
I'd be tempted to play what they said back to them in an email and ask them to confirm my understanding was correct I think0

You sound like you spoke to the same stroppy woman I did.
She told me...- Non maintained hardware after a year (the irony is this is the situation with Sky, not VM)
- Don't get all the same channels on both boxes (you certainly do)
- VIP VM pack doesn't include Sports or Movies (it most certainly does)
- My favorite was the 38mb Sky fiber service they could offer me was guaranteed to be faster than the 60mb Cable service I have had zero problems with in 7 years...work that one out!
- No full HD (the don't have one movie channel in HD, but have all others, and only SS 1 &2 are in HD) - she was okay up to that point, but then said BBC 2 wasn't in HD, no Channel 4 HD, no Film4 HD...I stopped her at this point and said she's just signed her Sky death warrant as far as I was concerned.
They just flat out lied and its a big problem, the difficulty is, unless the watchdog is given recordings, there's not much hope to get the shady tactics to stop...0 -
It was a man I spoke to, I think they all have the same script with the same lies on .
Think I will sit tight for a week and see if I get a call, if not I will see what Virgin can offer.0 -
Such practices are questionable, to say the least. And don't get me started on what they say about BT!
Stonker, once your last direct debit has been taken for your final months viewing, cancel it. Better to be safe than sorry. And I know this through bitter experience, and had to wait six months for a refund of monies they never should have taken.0 -
Good point. I guess they'll soon chase me for any extra I owe and then I can request a breakdown....0

He put me on hold for ages and my cordless phone went flat . I phoned back later and someone else said I shouldn't have been offered that , it was a mistake and they couldn't offer that much. I got annoyed then and told them to cancel it . I have emailed the complaints dept to tell them what I think , and said they should listen to the recording of the offer.
So the outcome is it goes off on the 9th Jan , so either they ring me back with a decent deal or I will be looking at virgin media .
I received my first phone call from them today, a week after cancelling. They offered 25% off my bill for a year , then 35% when I said that was still dearer than virgin . Offered me a new 2TB hd box . I said the main reason I left was because I wanted two replacement boxes and would go for the new Tivo boxes if they can't give them to me. She said she couldn't and would ring me next week to see if I wanted to go ahead .0 -
I tried cancelling last week and got a reply saying I had to ring to cancel, as they needed confirmation of my security details, even though I cancelled via my Sky account page.0
