    I don't know. I'm on talktalk.

I think 0844 is a non geographical number rather than premium rate

7.62p per minute plus 15p connection charge.

Or look for a geographical number on saynoto0870.com

Or simply go with your girlfriend's online cancellation.

Thanks. I do have free calls but I don't know if that includes 0844 but it's certainly not premium rate

    I use weq4u too.

But she's done it online now
  • I have been trying to get a better deal from sky this week . I have been ringing them on 0800 0963624 , goes straight to the options menu .

What are they offering? My experience is that won't offer 50% until they really think you're going to cancel and certainly not if you call them

Well this afternoon I was offered upgrade of the multiroom boxes for £59 total (not bad as they normally charge a lot for them ) and a little off the monthly bill. He put me on hold for ages and my cordless phone went flat . I phoned back later and someone else said I shouldn't have been offered that , it was a mistake and they couldn't offer that much. I got annoyed then and told them to cancel it . I have emailed the complaints dept to tell them what I think , and said they should listen to the recording of the offer.
So the outcome is it goes off on the 9th Jan , so either they ring me back with a decent deal or I will be looking at virgin media .

you cant do it online, they say you can and they imply you can, but when you send it they ask you to reply in email with your full account password and ALL your personal details. Which you wont do if you're value your data, so then they say to ring them as they cant do it in email.

Then they lie to you and tell you Virgin don't have things they do or can't do things they can, don't even get them started on BT.

I was astonished at how rude and ruthless the retentions team at Sky was - despite them even saying they will turn off future calls and spam I have been inundated, and I'm still officially connected till the 23rd of December.

Went back to Virgin, they actually offered me something for being loyal (I would NEVER cancel my fibre BBand as long as I live in the house I do...)

Unfortunately Virgin isn't an option for me. I might just manage with YouView until they make a 1/2 price offer

Sky called today and said that service will terminate on 10th Jan. Is that correct if we cancelled yesterday? It doesn't sound like 30 days to me

I cancelled just over a month ago.

I cancelled online and received an email saying they were going to contact me within 24 hours just as your gf said.

Sky phoned me the next day and offered me a better deal. I declined, my subscription was cancelled and sky 'switched off' about 3 weeks later.

    Oh ye of little faith!

9th of Dec cancelled - 10th of Jan switched off = 32 days
