Another Cash4Phones complaint...

If I could have rated this company as a zero, I would. I went onto a phone comparison website where cash4phones offered me the highest amount for my phone. I posted it to them. This phone was in pristine condition. I'm not just saying that, it truly was. I have had it in a secure case since I got it and I had a screen cover. They offered me £136 for my iPhone. Once they got the phone they revised it to £56. When I rejected the offer they charged me to get my phone back. Basically I have the same story as everyone here but I am going to try to go on as many sites as possible to warm people of this daylight robbery scam.
Please please do not use this company. Also I have never gone onto sites like this to complain before but it is such a joke that I feel like I have to do my best to warn people about this.0 -
just sent my s3 to them and was told I would get £203. yesterday I received an email to say due to excessive wear and tear they would only offer me £160.
My phone was absolutely mint, and still had zagg on from day one.
I will be calling and quoting the acts that the company is breaking.
Joke of a company. I sent it by recorded n a big jiffy envelope which cost me £7 and they want to charge £8.95 to return it back to me!
worse comes to worse il pay it rather than give it to them thiefs!0 -
I am gutted I didn't read this forum first! I sent my pristine Galaxy SII to them as they were the highest quote on the Internet. I even paid for a padded envelope and special delivery as the envelope they send is completely inadequate. I received a message from them like everyone else, saying that they will not pay the £117 offered due to excessive scratches on screen (there weren't) and offered me £44 instead or I could pay £8.95 to have it returned. I was fuming, but like many others didn't want to end up £15 down with the postage cost to send it to them, then the cost to get it back, so just sucked it up!
I still haven't received my money, nearly one month later, despite numerous emails. Apparently they are having technical difficulties. I am going to call them and try and get them to send my phone back, but am worried that they would purposely damage it now, to make a point - if they even still have it.
As I haven't had any money, I class this as tantamount to stealing.... Any advice on how to proceed would be gratefully received. Being 8 months pregnant I could really do without this!0 -
Please - Please stay well away from this company - they inflate the prices that they will offer you and then tell you have cosmetic damage on your phone and is now worth a much lower amount £10.25 is the standard - you have to pay £8.95 to have it returned to you - then they might call you to up the offer - they offered me £25 on August 21st 2013 which I accepted as better than the £10.25 originally offer - but I am still waiting 42 days to receive this money into my account - and all I get is there is technical difficulties in their accounts department - THEY ARE A TOTAL RIP OFF STAY WELL CLEAR OTHERWISE BE PREPARE TO LOSE YOU PHONE WITH NO PAYMENT - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED0

Lots of people have had problems - googling them brings this up:

Hi,
Unfortunately I didn't really research C4P before I used them and it was only after sending my phone that I realised what a horrible company they are.
To cut a long story short, on top of all the other mess I've had with them, they still haven't paid me for my phone, a month after they were supposed to have. I've had that many problems with them during this that I just want this to be over now but they keep giving me the same generic reply of "Please accept our sincere apologies in regards to any inconvenience caused, we would like to take this time to confirm that your payment will be in your account shortly"
They've sent me this exact reply three times now and they are notoriously difficult to get hold of by telephone. I have got their number but it's a premium number and I'm on hold for SO long that I usually give up. It's probably cost me over £20 just in telephone calls to them where I've given up after waiting on hold for so long. The one time I did get through the rude woman on the other side said that the money would be in by Thursday LATEST (It's not Monday) and that her manager would ring me back within 24 hours (which obviously I didn't get).
I want to know how I can get my money off them. I'm sick of sending them emails and calling them and I think writing a letter to them would only get me the same response my emails have gotten me.0 -
Easily fixed.
i.) Registered letter informing them that unless full payment is received within 7 working days, you will have no alternative but to issue County Court proceedings - for the value of the phone, for the cost of the calls made chasing up payment, and for the inconvenience and any time off work to attend court.
ii.) If you still haven't been paid within the 7 working days, simply go to gov *dot* uk *forward slash* make *hyphen* money *hyphen* claim *hyphen* online (sorry - unable to post URLs)
It's 99% certain Cash4Phones won't even respond to the Court notice, hence a default judgment in your favour.
I have done this many, many times. It's painless and extremely easy to enforce a judgment and collect payment.0 -
Hi
Same problem here.
Do you have a number for them please. Theres a number forwarding site that is 0871 10p a minute that keeps pou on hold for ever and I think may be a scam.
I had an email saying my payment was processed on 26th October.
Money still not showing in the bank.
Ive emailed twice with no reply so will consider small claim now also.
I truelly hope the money is paid as i had this before with another company a couple of years ago and after constantly saying the money was on its way they went bump.
