  • Hi All,

First post so bear with me!!

I used this company a year ago to recycle a handset and had no problems with them whatsoever. I decided to use them again for my upgrade handset.

A Nokia Lumia 920 and was quoted £182.10 do I duely sent my phone.

I have since had a response lowering my offer to £72.82. Reasons being Significant cosmetic damage (the only damage is a tiny scratch on the screen). However I look into the further details part of the page and it states a software fault...It certainly was not faulty, I've only had the handset 4 months.

I have tried contacting them on an 0845 number and was on hold for 50 minutes before I gave up. I have used their contact me form to no avail either this morning.

Does anyone have any ideas or hints or alternative ways to get in contact with them? I will not accept the reasons they are giving.

After reading other threads it is clear they are company that needs complaining about to get done what the customer wants.

    All help would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Anthony

I sent away a brand new 9790 (unwanted gift I couldn't return). They offered £89. I got an email a week later saying the offer was £52 because of damage. The phone was boxed, still had the screen protector on and was never used!!! I phoned and they said they will get a technician to re-value. They finally offered £89. Payment took 18 working days.

For the sake of 2 or 3 pounds go with somebody else.
  • Website offered £69 for my phone so I sent it to them (unfortunately before I did any research on them). They then reduced the value if my phone to £24.15 due to 'excessive wear and tear'. My phone was in immaculate condition when I sent it to them, I kept it in a plastic mould case the whole time I used it and it didn't have a scratch on it. They have ignored all my 4 emails of complaint (2 of which were sent to the MD Mr Henchoz!) and have said I have accepted the offer of £24.15 when on all my emails to them I have made it perfectly clear that I have no intention of accepting the offer. They have ignored me in order to benefit their own financial gain, which makes them no better than a bunch of thieves! Hope they feel good about themselves for stealing money from innocent customers!! Don't go near this company with a barge pole!!!

They refurbish your phone then sell them on for a good profit after buying them for next to nothing from mugs.
  • I wish I had done my homework properly on this company. I agreed to recycle my iphone 4 (in perfect working order & appearance) for £132 and once they received it they offered "£47.95-excessive scratching on screen". And if I reject their offer they are asking £8.95 to return the phone to me. I am furious to say the least. I have now looked into it and come Monday I will be trying to phone them (but it looks like they are hard to get a hold off) and emailing them (which I believe they block your email address). I am not looking forward to this but I will not back down, I want the agreed amount or my phone returned (fee waived). After now researching, they have so many complaints against them, the company should be shut down. Any help or advice would be welcome in how to proceed .......???!?

You would get more on eBay.
  • Suggest they give you their original valuation or return the phone to you waiving the fee. I had a similar issue with them (before any of the bad reviews were issued), threatened to take them to trading standards etc as there was nothing wrong with my phone at all, eventually they backed down.

    Good luck in your battle.
  • Hi,

I was wondering whether a tone actually received their phone back from cash 4 phones after paying the £8.95 return cost?
  • Well - Im with you on this one. Last week I saw them on here. Sent off my Samsung Galaxy Ace in pristine condition. It was only 2 months old as my network replaced me old one as it broke. To get an email yesterday to say it has excessive scratches. NO WAY. So they originally offered me 47.00 and then offered me 16.00. I am furious. To add fuel to fire if I want the phone back they will charge me 8.95. I have now (little too late) looked for reviews and found so many people in the same situation. This is not something I am going to take lightly, I have to admit I didn't read all your post but now have and laughable we almost have the same post. I have sent them an email with all the reviews on it. I cannot believe they have the audacity to lie so boldly. A couple of lessons learnt, don't trust MSE as they maybe being conned just like us and do my research.
  • My husband was offered the highest price of £132 for his iPhone 4 by cash4phones. The company contacted him and said his phone was scratched and they would only offer £45 or £8.95 to return the phone in the small print. Contacted them by email and he received a phone call to discuss the matter. After lengthy discussion they agreed to pay him £120. He received an email confirming the payment would be made within 3 days and that was on the 25 th August. Needless to say no money received. Now they're not even answering their phone. Going to contact BBC Watchdog.
