Another Cash4Phones complaint...

Options
last week i sent an iphone 3gs to cash4phones.co.uk, online it was valued at £112.06, jiffy bag arrived, posted straight away, they received it a dealt with it in a couple of days. On checking my emails i note that they have made me a counter offer of £56.00,due to cracked/damaged back cover,on reading there online feedback i know this to be a ploy.Sunday night i sent them a stinking email, requesting my phones return ( i paid there £5 p+p fee),and was sent a reply stating ' human error does sometimes apply',we will get the phone looked at again. As of today no reply as yet. The phone was in v/good condition, sent with gel cover and screen protector in place.I did inform them that i would share my experiance with MSE community & now i have. I'll keep you posted. BE AWARE.

Was contacted yesterday by email by cash4phones.co.uk with a counter offer of £99.99,phone is not now cracked but has ' slight cosmetic damage ', i emailed them this morning requesting my phones return, stating that £5 p+p should be enough to get it to me within 48hrs, there reply was that it would be sent out in due course, & sorry for my inconveniance........what a complete and utter waist of time and effort ( & £5 ), use this company at your own risk!

I sold my 3GS on Ebay for £150 lol
  • Hi there,

I had almost exactly the same problem with this company yesterday. Original offer for my iphone 3GS was 112.50, sent recorded delivery, wrapped in layers and layers of rubber foam to protect it. Received the email saying it was 'Cracked or damaged back casing'.

I'm FUMING that i didnt do online research before i dealt with them, i usually always read reviews.

I've just emailed them, im awaiting their response.

Be prepared for the fact their T&Cs may say you'll get another phone back, NOT the one you sent. (Many do!).

    Where? And who?

Thought i'd let you know the outcome... After attempting to ring them a few times and the phone just ringing out, i contacted them through the contact form on the website. I got a reply saying there may have been a mistake, and a revised offer of £103 was made. There was still some bullsh*t about the back case being damaged so they couldn't offer me the original £112. I reluctantly accepted the revised offer, as i was afraid that if i asked them to return my phone, they might actually damage it to the extent that they were telling me it was damaged!! Or like the poster above said, send me a phone that wasnt actually mine.

So take note, don't use Cash4Phones, they are con-men. If its too late and you've received the revised offer at half what they originally promised you, then contact them and give them a piece of your mind, at least you'll get somewhere nearer your original offer.

    **********************FINAL UPDATE***********************

Finally got my phone back, and it was my phone, it was sent back to me special signed for post and was well wrapped, From cashing my £4.95 return fee,to receiving phone back took 2 weeks & 2 phone calls, a valuable lesson learnt, never ever use cash4phones.co.uk again.

Silver lining, sold phone to mate for £120.00, covered all costs with small profit......RESULT.
