Successful complaints about private parking tickets - how to get them cancelled!

I received a PCN from Parking Eye during a recent visit to Aldi in Kidbrooke.
Having used Plan A successfully at this location before, I contacted Aldi Customer Services with my receipt number. I explained that I had no intention of shopping at a place where I risked a £70 addition to my bill and within a day, they responded with a friendly email confirming the cancellation of the PCN.
They said they never give charges to genuine customers, well done Aldi.
I think it may have been easy to resolve because I tend to keep my receipts, so it's worth noting for anyone who regularly uses this kind of car park.

Hi all, I just wanted to share my success and express gratitude in executing Plan A with two parking tickets I received last week, (W/C 4/5/26). The first was with Sainsburys and the company was Euro Car Parks and the second was with the Co-Op and the company was Horrizon. On both occasions I stayed a little over two hours. I didn't post an initial thread because I had read the Newbies FAQ's so got the information from there. I am struggling financially at the moment and have recently been in touch with Step Change so in both cases I was honest about this with the retailer and they agreed to cancel. For any Newbies, if it isn't clear to you from the Newbies FAQ's, (because it wasn't to me), there is no standard template for Plan A - you will need to draft your own. I got some ideas for wording on the 'Successful complaints about private parking tickets - how to get them cancelled!' link. I had to do my own research about who to contact from the stores, (I was looking for the direct email address for the manager of both stores respectively). If you can't find the info online then try phoning the store and asking for the managers email address directly, that worked for me anyway. I do understand they have these rules so people don't take the mick with parking, so I will be more careful next time. But I did not have the money to pay for these so I am incredibly grateful that I was able to get these cancelled on this occasion so thanks MSE! and everyone who's posted before me :)

Had a PCN from Britannia Parking, for parking at John Lewis, Welwyn Garden City, claiming I 'Failed to make a valid payment', which I had. Photos showed the time the car arrived and left (so an overstay), without taking into consideration the fact only one machine was working and the queue of people meant it took 15 minutes to get a ticket!
Filled in a an online John Lewis complaint with screenshot of parking payment and purchases in shop. Got a phone call from customer service, with the ticket cancelled successfully.

Hi,
I have an14 minutes overstay PCN from Euro Car Parks (ECP) on Swallow Street Birmingham.
This is a private place, not sure how to find the landowner to complain, it's not advertised anywhere and cannot ask ECP as they don't have a formal process of doing so.
Any help will be apreciated.

You should start a new thread about it but I will link the landowner advice below

My daughter (attending with my little granddaughter) last week has just been caught out by CEL at her local health clinic. Consultant was running 90 minutes behind schedule, daughter told to go to the clinic restaurant to have some lunch as consultant would need a lunch break herself before starting her later appointments. Eventually had her appointment over 2 hours late, and because of the complexities of my granddaughter’s various health conditions, her 30 minute appointment slot extended to 90 minutes! NtK arrived by post 48 hours later!
I laughed when the ‘aaargh, help’ phone call arrived! Anyway, Daddy Umkomaas to the rescue. Complaint letter to clinic top-knob drafted and sent, CEL cancellation letter 24 hours later. Plan A strikes again! Boom! 💥…………
Nicely done @Umkomaas 🤣Can you show us the wording of the complaint letter in Successful Complaints About PPCs and how you found the clinic top banana please, as people are being fobbed off by supervisor types!
………….
Head honcho details discovered via the Wirral Community Trust which seems to have general oversight of the clinic. The letter was polite and basically covered the sequence of events explaining how, through no fault of her own, complying with the terms of the contract and leaving the car park at the 3-hour point, would mean terminating the actual consultation midstream. Would just be a ridiculous situation, where the critical health issues of my granddaughter became subordinate to the imposition of CEL’s poxy regulations. PPCs shouldn’t be operating in the health service sector!
Actual letter of complaint contains too much personal detail to copy verbatim, and redactions would render it pretty unreadable. But, gist as above. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
