Thanks for that unsurpassable. I'll give them a call in a bit to make sure thats the case.

Also having issues with cashback from Mobileshop (2months overdue) and Mobileconnections (as I see many others are on this forum). So this is definitely one thing to smile about at last.
  • i have got another news
You can cancel the contract , give a ring to orange , ask them to put through dissconnections
They have got an eligibility list.
They will check your number and let u know if you ate eligible.
But they say you have to send a written notice on the address they provided me
    customer relations admin
    nexus house
    senhouse road
    lingfield way
    darlington
    dl1 4yg

there cant be an eligibility clause with this, they dont know that you are not going to use these services in the future and they have amended EVERY orange customers terms and conditions, so therefore everyone is within their rights to cancel

    Hi,
I called Orange again today and I was allowed to cancel, but need to send hand-written notice and I also need to return the handset (I have only had it for one month, but I don't mind). This was an extra contract that I got just for calling internationally with the future intention of porting over from another contract I have but obviously now this is completely pointless, so I will just keep my old contract.

You need to call first in order to let them know that you are cancelling, so that they will give you a retention (or cancellation) number that you will use in your letter.

This is something strange to me since there's no such a requirement in the T&Cs.

Instead, in the email response to my email cancellation request, they said that:

We are sorry to hear that you are thinking of leaving Orange.

If you decide to cancel your contract at the end of your agreement, we do require 30 days notice.

Notice can be sent via email to customer.relations@orange-ftgroup.com and should include your name, account number and the telephone number which is going to be disconnected.

This is a bit tricky because it is not clear if they mean this applies to "end of contract" cancellation only.

So I've sent them cancellation request by email again to the provided address, and will send it again by recorded post later today. Let's see how this will proceed.

No, the 30 days refer to normal cancellation, i.e. when you have already been with them for 12 months (for example) and then you don't upgrade but just carry on using their service. In that case you need to give 30 days notice. Also if you don't want to upgrade, then again 30 days notice (so a bit more than a month before your contract ends).

Regarding what we are discussing at the moment (07744/07755 numbers), paragraph 4.3 is valid, which means that the contract can be terminated immediately.

Recorded post is the safest way because then you have a tangible proof.

Is that correct, do you have to return the handset? I thought that you were able to keep it if you cancelled for a valid reason.

I called this morning and was told to send a letter, but they didn't give me any reference numbers. Has anyone got more information about this?

    Well here's something,

I regularly dial 07744 (like everyone else roaming this board) and upon receiving my latest bill I see that I have NOT been charged for a 45 minute call on the 9th June :T I have been on a dolphin package since aug/sep.

What does the board make of that....

I suppose this is just because they are giving everyone a grace period until 22 June as a result of complaints on their abrupt T&C change notice.
