We were delayed Gatwick to Las Vegas by 26 hrs. We checked in online but had to check in again on arrival. The pilot advised the delay was caused by a baggage carrier colliding with a plane at the previous destination so we had been offloaded to the next flight. Does this count as the airlines fault?0

Yes airline fault, compensation due, read Vauban's Guide then post on appropriate airline thread please. All assumes this was not over 6 years ago.0 -
It was Dec 2008, does that make a difference?0

Flight date was 15 Aug 15 and flight number was W63771 SBZ to LTN.
What sites would let me check the actual reason for the delay?
EDIT :- didn't see the reply from 111KAB ahove - think the reply covers it.
If you haven't already have a read of Vaubans excellent guide, that gives links to sites that can help as 111KAB has said, start with Flightstats.
But none of the sites are likely to give you the cause of the delay, sometimes you have to look at the evidence and try and work things out, because an airline or two have been known to bend the truth quite far from reality to prevent payouts on claims.
The only time the airline will come clean is in a legal defence to the courts, and sometimes that's heavy skewed to their advantage.
Flightstats and any local press normally pick up on major air traffic problems or computer failures causing problems.
Good luck

I have had a scan around and the only news of bugs/glitches etc is for a US flight system. Could Wizz Air be trying to pull a fast one or is not beyond the realms of possibility that they are telling the truth?0 -

load your flight number and date into EUClaim and it shows "Your possible compensation is € 400 per passenger." so sounds like any problems there may have been were not relevant to your flight (maybe a previous flight and they are claiming knock on delay due to the original reason)0 -
many of the NWNF sites have access to the information as they will quickly be able to tell you whether you either have a claim or not

Well, as i have been given the brush off with Wizz Air, i took your advice and have filed a claim with EUClaim - if successful it looks like they will take approx £93 and i will be awarded approx £188.
