In 2010 we were delayed on a Thomas cook return flight for 5hrs flying out of cuba to manchester would we be covered by the delayed flight comp also have no boarding pass or other docs if we were covered how would we go about claiming hope someone can advise many thanks in advance....
1) Should be on Thomas Cook thread
2) Read Vauban's Guide
3) Sounds like you may have valid claim.0 -
A friend of mine had their flight cancelled (lack of crew) from Manchester to New York, this was with United. She was staying there a night & then flying on to the Dominican Republic. United eventually booked her onto a Virgin flight to Orlando and then a flight to New York. She arrived in New York at 11.30pm instead of Midday. It was very inconvenient as she has intended having an afternoon and evening in New York. She has emailed United and they have offered US$125 in vouchers. Then today they have offered US$300 for the two passengers but in United vouchers to be used by next February. She has declined & told them she knows her rights. She actually only knows what I have told her. I've told her she has a claim and that they owe her £420 each in cash. Please tell me I'm right.0

If the ticket was only to New York with a separate ticket to DR then she indeed should have a claim based on delayed arrival time. If the ticket was to DR that happened to have a change in NY but they continued on the original flight to DR and arrived as scheduled then not as they were not delayed to their final destination0 -
Hi,
I flew to Hyderabad India from LHR.
There was no seat for me for second leg of the journey i.e. Abu Dhabi to Hyd.
At the end I reached Hyd after going through Abu Dhabi -> Colobmo- > Chennai -> Hyd.
Overall delayed by more than 12 Hrs.
I was given $200 voucher to use in Etihad flights with 1 year expiry, I did sign some letter not contesting this delay later.
I did not use the voucher.
Can I still apply for compensation?
Can one get compensation when one leg of the connecting flight is delayed or overbooked?0 -

If the flight from London was late that meant you missed the onward connection then you may have had a EU261 claim depending on the reason for the delay, however the fact you signed a letter could go against your claim0 -
hi there,
I wanted to discuss this with someone as I am not sure how much I am entitled to reclaim compensation. My flight was cancelled on 8/08/15 due to technical issues while we were waiting to board the plain from Bilbao Spain to London Stansted at 11.30pm. We were stuck in the airport until 1.30am when the flight company (easy jet) decided to drive us for 6 hours in a coach up to Madrid as they couldn't find any rooms available. we arrived in Madrid at 7.30am and we were waiting for an hour to check in to a hotel. at 12.00pm on the 9/08/15 they drove us to Madrid airport for a 4.30pm flight to London Stansted. my flight was cancelled and delayed for 17hrs. I spoke to easy jet and asked them for 500 euros compensation for myself and my husband together and they said yes straight away which makes me believe that is more to the story than that. Was 500 euros compensation the correct amount or should I claim for more than that considering that my flight was cancelled and delayed for 17hrs? we have been provided meals and accommodation but I have lost myself a day and a night and I am still tired after not sleeping at all that night. I start work straight away on Monday the 10th august after arriving to London at 7.30pm in the evening on the 9th august. I should have been in London around 12.00am on Saturday the 8/08/15 and should have a good night sleep in my bed and a day off before returning to work. This did not happen. there is more compensation that I need to claim?
thank you

if you need to post further there is an Easyjet thread
same compensation amount applies whether you were delayed 3 hours and 5 minutes or 33 hours...€250 each0 -
Was the flight to the Dominican Republic part of the same ticket? How late did they arrive at the final destination of the ticket?

Now you've got me. The flight was booked for the Dominican Republic originally but United don't fly direct from the UK. So flight was Manchester to Newark & then Newark to Dominican Republic the following morning, which arrived okay. She arrived in newark about 11 hours late & had to fly via Orlando. So she's not entitled to anything then? as this is classed as one ticket?0 -
Sorry I've never been able to work out how these messages/quotes etc. work.0

Hi - I had my flight cancelled last December due to exceptional circumstances which I understand excludes me from compensation as advised by EasyJet. I was offered an alternative flight 2 days later which I took and I claimed back my train fare to and from Gatwick.
However I am wondering whether I qualify for other reasons - everyone was eventually told to 'go to gate' as the flight was expected to leave where we waited to be eventually told that they couldn't get a crew together to arrive at our destination airport (Zurich) before it closed for the night. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks0
