I thought you'd booked through Blue Bay?

Anyway, is it possible there is a problem with the hotel rather than the flights?

Have you asked them why it's happened?

  • Booked through BB but flight was, with TC. TC have bumped us off the flight so we are putting in a claim against TC as we had a contract with them.
  • No hotel issue as we've changed our flight to Birmingham and that's all stayed the same

Is there no way to get a compensation for this flight from easyjet Flight 5340 scheduled yesterday from Toulouse (21h50) to london Gatwick.
    Apparently delay was 2h59 minutes.

They said the would give refreshments but nothing was done and everything
even water was NOT free on board.
  • Hi guys,

Had a flight on Sunday from Prague to London (QS1096). Got a call on Saturday from the travel agent saying the flight had been moved from 8pm to 10pm. The flight eventually landed slightly delayed again (as per flightstats.co.uk) at 23:34 (originally scheduled landing time 20:55). Questions are:
    1. Given the flight was rescheduled the day before, is this similar to a delay or cancellation?
    2. If yes (and if this means I can make an EU261 claim), do I do this to the travel agent or directly the airline? Would this be for €250?
    3. By the time we got out of the airport, the next train home wasn't for another hour so we got a taxi instead (£50). Would we be able to claim this under "reasonable costs"?

makes no difference whether you were told when you turned up at the airport or the day before - comp applies unless given more than 14 days notice

Claim is from the airline direct

Airlines are not responsible for consequential losses, your contract ended at the airport. If you do not want to pay for this from your compensation then you could try and claim from your travel insurance

  • Thanks Caz - main reason I asked is that Martin's guide is slightly unclear - the table at the end of section 5 seems to indicate that because it was 2+ hours late, I'm due compensation, whereas elsewhere in the guide is says 3+ hours late...
  • Hi, So I gathered all the information I needed to complete a compensation claim (using a MSE template). I posted it and I have had it confirmed by the contact centre today that the case was created on 16th April (the day after I posted it, so I agree with them on that point). In my letter, I gave them 14 days to reply, they had not, hence my call today to confirm that they had received it. They told me that although the case was created on 16th, it was only opened on 26th (amazing coincidence given that I called them today) and that they have upto 56 days to reply, but in the next sentence, they say there is no timescale for them to settle and they can take up to 2 years to close the case! Given I spent over 16 mins holding and then talking to someone today, can I get reimbursement of my mobile costs but more importantly, am I within my rights to now pursue this legally as my letter offered them 14 days to reply which they obviously ignored! Oh by the way, I also submitted an online complaint today (to make sure they have an my claim and that says they will reply within 28 days)...

If you have followed Vaubans guide and issued a 14 day NBA, then your next step is to commence Court proceedings, if that's what you said you were going to do then do it!
