In all my recent court proceedings I only sent one copy to the courts, and it has been accepted.
Interesting point made above by Magpie, I recently had witness statements sent to me by email at the 11th hour with a note asking if I would like paper copies to which I replied yes. I have not received paper copies and and did not agree to service by email, does that mean that I haven't technically been served the witness statements?0 -

Thanks for that
Yes, I do believe it does if you have not agreed to accept service by email, I recall a member from the 'parking fine' division of this forum made a few posts in here, about the legalities and although helpful, I got the impression, that they fight harder than us, and they exploit EVERY opportunity. Pop in there if you want to go down this route....

Oooh, a nice easy question for a change. Yes! And while it probably doesn't apply in your case, "service" by e-mail could be crucial if the Court had made an "unless" order requiring the Defendant to serve it;s statements by a certain time or else, and they sent them by e-mail.

Hope this is in the right place! Flight to Washington in July 13 via Iceland delayed 24hr+, put up in hotel overnight by Icelandair. Used ML template for compensation to Icelandair, received fairly prompt refusal so used CAA template to appeal, didn't hear anything for 8 months the original letter of complaint requested & appeal upheld by CAA & case closed, next day letter in post fr Icelandair asking for my bank details - looks like am about to get max compensation.0

Thanks for the info. So can I declare that I haven't been served the statements and have them thrown out, or would that be seen as being petty minded and awkward?0 -
Just posting to say a very big 'thank you' for all the advice we have had from the MSE site and the forum. We have finally received a compensation payment from Icelandair - days before we were due to go to court - and have also received confirmation from American Airlines that they will now agree to pay compensation for a delayed US Airways flight.
Thanks again!
I think I may have celebrated a little prematurely. No sign of any money in our account yet from American Airlines, despite providing them with our account details weeks ago.0 -
407. Re: Flight Delay Compensation
today, 8:56
Hi all,Just wanted to let everyone know that I claimed with British Airways for a delayed flight from Los Angeles in Feb 14, it was BA's fault delayed our flight to get a previously cancelled/flights passengers onto our flight and delayed it by 264mintues.Found flight info out on Flightstats,I used a letter template off moneyexpert.com and tailored it to my details and filled out BA's customer relations online form and inserted the letter into the information box.I also sent a letter off that same but with copies of boarding passes in as well. But it was the online form that worked I got a case ref number in a reply and got a reply a day later saying I had a claim and I was entitled to £1326. 3xpassengers I had to give them my bank details and 3 days later I got the money,it took 6days,don't try ringing customer relations it's a waste of time you'll never get through do it all by the online forms and contact details, now I may have been lucky because it was a clear cut delay by them but it doesn't cost anything to try and I was going to go through a delay flights company but they charge 29%+ on average. So give it a go you have nothing to lose if it doesn't work go through an online company. But lay out the letter so it looks professional by ways of using the template letter but use all their legal buff and if anyone one out there who flew on BA0282 February 22nd 2014 LAX to LHR get your claim in!!0 -
Congratulations Matt
Judging by the number of successful claims reported on the forum recently, it seems the airlines have finally got their act together, (well most of them anyway).
Well done. :T0
