Big thanks for the template letter. My wife and I were delayed back on 18/12/2011. We were due to depart Barbados for Birmingham and experienced a 27 hour delay. To be fair we were put up in a very nice hotel overnight and food and refreshments were all provided.
Reading the forum and using the templates we were successful in getting £934.72 back from Thomsons. Yes it took a while but was worth the wait.0 -
hi
About 3 or 4 years ago we went to Cyprus for a wedding, both hotel and flight was booked through a travel agent. On the return journey at the airport we were delayed for 4 hours plus. we got word that the airline had went bust and we were transferred to nearby hotels and flew back home the next day. Would i be entitled to compensation?0 -

No.

Following your advice I claimed compensation for a flight diversion to Cyprus while on the way to Luxor. The delay was in excess of 8 hours. The claim was originally rejected by TUI on the grounds of being over the time limit. Following the recent ruling I appealed their decision and on Saturday received a cheque for £901.35! We are off on a cruise in a couple of weeks so that's the onboard spending money sorted!0

I have been rejected by Flybe under EC Regulation
261/2004 for a flight in April 2006 that was delayed for 5.5 hours.
The CAA say they can't help either as it is over 6 years ago.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.0 -

they have rejected your claim so the next step would be to go to court. You cannot go to court as the flight was over 6 years ago
nothing you can do apart from forget about it
even if the claim was valid I am not aware of any airline that would pay up after the 6 year mark as they know you can do absolutely nothing about it0 -
We was delayed 24 hours on a Thomas Cook Holiday cuba to Manchester. I followed your instruction and have been sent a holiday voucher for £930.00. Can I insist on cash instead of voucher?0
