  • Go to court. Thomson always ask for old boarding passes. I am currently suing them for compensation for a flight delay from East Midlands Airport. We were left hanging around for nine hours with just a £5 meal voucher. Extraordinary circumstances - they didn't have a plane.

I am assisting a claimant in respect of a delayed flight from Spain to the UK where the claimant resides in Spain and is Spanish speaking. The claimant has yet to fully progress the claim however (without recommendation of any kind) he is using http://retrasos.net/ - a Spanish NWNF.

As soon as I have details regarding the interest/deductions etc I will post however it appears that the Spanish Court have instructed the airline to pay compensation to their Spanish handling agent (Iberia) and thereafter they will instruct Iberia to pay the claimant.
  • So, good news - I had my claim compensation accepted, however, I was told a cheque has been sent out, but it's still not arrived. I know the rest of my party (3 other people) have all received their cheques (1.5 weeks ago and we all live in the same town), and we're now outside the promised time in which I had to receive my cheque - I don't suppose anyone has any advice on what I do now? Has anyone else experienced the same? Thanks

You don't mention the airline but it is probably worth checking on the thread for the particular airline to see if others have had the same problem
  • Hi,

I have a question that I haven't been able to find an answer to in the guide or on the main site, would really appreciate any guidance. I was flying with EasyJet from Amsterdam to Stansted back in April 2012 and my flight was delayed for 5 hours 16 minutes because of a technical problem. Because of the length of the delay I ended up transferring onto a later flight to Gatwick, as that is more convenient for me than Stansted. That flight was on time but I still ended up getting home 6 hours later than I was supposed to because of the delay to the original flight. My original claim for compensation was turned down because it was a technical problem with the plane, but I've recently tried again in the light of the new ruling. However, EasyJet have come back to say that because I transferred to a different flight which landed on time, I am not eligible for compensation. Is this correct? Do you have to travel on the delayed flight in order to qualify for a refund?

Thanks in advance for any info.

    Hello,

I've recently returned from a holiday where I was delayed 4 hours in Manchester and 11 hours in Rhodes. I booked with Olympic holidays and flew with Germania. Has anyone got any experience with claims against this airline? Do they have to be put in the post? Or can I use the airlines e-mail?

    Thanks for any help.
I emailed a claim to Germania on 16th January and although I have a delivery report, I haven't even had an acknowledgement of the email.

I think I am going to send the claim through the post.

You were rerouted onto a different flight because of the delay to your original plane. The determining factor is whether you were delayed beyond you original estimated time of arrival. The fact that the later plane on which you were rerouted was on time is irrelevant. Either EasyJet are lying to you or they are incompetent. It matters not which - sue them either way.
