Cooper said: “If every passenger claims, almost €70 million a year would leak to claims companies. Ultimately, someone pays – and it will be passengers.”
But not everyone does, the figures are as low as 10%
Simply get us to our destination on time, then nobody would have a claim!!!After reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!

Hi Guys,
I am new to this so bear with me please. 😊
I was wondering what the position was on getting compensation for delayed flights that meet the criteria, that were paid by the company you work for?
If successful would your company get the money as they originally paid for the ticket? Or is the individual who travelled entitled to this?
Thanks0 -

Hi Anonx,
This does crop up from time to time, the answer is that the compensation is paid to the passenger not to the person that bought the ticket, always an interesting one this....
Cheers,

Hi, Hope I am posting in the correct place. I booked a flight from Manchester to Boston on the 9th October 2014. The Manchester to Heathrow flight was delayed due to high winds. On arrival at Heathrow there was no plane to Boston so I was put on a flight to New York. On arrival at New York I was told to make my way to an Hotel and the flight to Boston would be the following morning. This meant that I arrived a my destination a day later than planned. My luggage arrived the following day. I have tried to claim compensation was refused as they said it wasn't the airlines fault. This seems totally unfair as I missed a day of my holiday.0

I submitted a claim letter to thomson regarding a delayed flight in 2010. I had all the dates, times flight numbers etc. and delay info., I have received a letter to say that without a booking reference number or boarding pass they will not proceed with my claim. As this was 5 years ago it is unlikely that anyone would keep a boarding pass that long! Anyone else had this problem? What can I do next? Surely thomson can check on their records with all the info I have given them? Any useful info appreciated.0

this is all covered in Vauban's guide which can be found here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5173888
section 5.2
there will also be people with similar tales that have posted on the Thomson thread0 -
Another one! Seems to me Travel Weekly should be promoting their 'members' provide a better (on time) service rather that continually criticising current legislation.

Exactly the same garbage from Thomson asking me for boarding passes from a delayed flight in 2011! Taken them to court and they have acknowledged receipt of claim and say they will file a defence. Claimed "Extraordinary circumstances" delay caused by "knock-on effect" of previous flight. We were sitting around East Midlands Airport for nine hours with a voucher for £5. I suggest you go to the Money Claim Online site, pay £60 and sue them.0
