Compensation for delayed flights Discussion Area

Everyone,
My family going to claim flight cancellation compensation from EJ Flying from Gatwick to Copenhagen.
The fun of story is that
- booking was done and paid by our friend in Denmark via EJ.dk site;
- the parties flying (and cancelled) were my family from Russia;
- I am myself in UK and keen to manage the claim...
Who should file the claim in this case?
Can I file for them?
Or any person who was cancelled or just the person who booked and paid?
PS suppose this is general Q so not posting it to EJ forum
Thanks

The following day they lost their case in the Supreme Court, so I sent a follow up letter asking them to reconsider the claim as soon as possible.
I have now received another letter stating they will look at my claim, but also stating:
"Please also note that all claims must be submitted by each claimant individually.............
.......... I am therefore unable to consider the other passengers on whose behalf you are claiming."
Has anyone had any experience of this, is it just another stalling exercise by Jet2, and if we do all need to claim individually, what is the position with the two children who were in our party in respect of submitting a claim in writing etc?
Hopefully I can get some good advice from those of you on here.
Total hogwash from our dear friends at Jet2 yet again, there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY WHATSOEVER that Jet2 will pay you a penny in compensation, not without legal action, check out my home, the Jet2 dedicated thread and welcome inside, read Vaubans guide, then issue NBA, followed by the N1 form for multiple claimants NOT MCOL.

Hi , we had a 6 hour flight delay,Manchester to Fuerteventura, outbound and inbound, back in 2008, in 2013 I emailed the airline AIR MALTA, even though I had booked with XL airline, to ask about compensation , they sent me an automated reply ,saying that they would get back to me. They didn't. I forgot about this until tonight when I found the old emails that were sent. However the flight is now not shown on flight stats, but I still have my boarding pass, can I continue my claim, or is it too late now.0

Hi Geoff,
It's not bad news Geoff, it's really bad news, flight claims must be within 6 years, England or 5 Scotland....
... I'm really sorry m8.
At least you know for next time!

Even though I originally started the claim back in 2013, by writing to them twice. They replied saying that they would get back to me . Of course they never did.0 -
Geoff - they played you for time, knowing they could safely ignore you once 6 years up.
Typical underhand tactics of most airlines and their leagl firms I'm afraid.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Yes, even though, you actually needed to have commenced legal proceedings, writing to them does not count in law I'm afraid...
It's a common stalling tactic used regulary by the airlines, check out the dedicated Monarch thread and this comment by 111KAB
