  • Hi all,
Last month I was flying out of London with Malaysian airlines. The flight was delayed departing by nearly 7 hours. I had an onward connection that had to be rebooked and I ended up losing half a day of my holiday. No apology was received from MAS, and they will not even acknowledge my compaint that has been sent to both their London and KL addresses. I used the format that Money Expert suggested. I don't wish to use a solicitor, does anyone have any other ideas ? Thank you.

what was the reason for the delay?
  • Hello

I had a 7 hour delay from London to New York in 2010. I have filled in the template letter and have all the relevant photocopies all ready to send to KLM but I cannit find an address where to send this? Any Ideas?

I tried to fill in the refund request online on their site but cannit input all the photocopies and my letter.

Anyone send a letter to KLM before and did you have any luck?

    Thanks you
    Catherine

Hi - would appreciate some thoughts. Flight to Newark delayed by 7.5 hours on 5/4/14. Once boarded Captain announced that delay was due to the fact that working time regulations in the US had changed the previous week and this meant that he and the crew had had to take a longer rest break, which had not been reflected in the scheduling of the flights. Have complained to United quoting the relevant legislation. They have replied saying that the delay was due to an 'unexpected safety shortcoming.' and is therefore not covered by EC 261. Have tried to fob me off with useless vouchers. Anyone know how to prove they are fibbing! Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Did you get any further with this claim? We were on the same flight and have a court date for March - would be interesting to share notes.

    Thanks
  • Considering that United is an American airliner, it's a pretty bad show if they don't know that the regulations had changed. I would have a lot of fun cross examining their operations manager or whoever they dared to call.
  • Anybody know where I can go to find out why an aircraft was delayed please?

(KLM are telling me that my flight delay was because of bad weather at it's destination, when in fact the aircraft had been late all morning prior to it arriving to where I was waiting for it. I would like to find out why it was initially delayed for it's first flight of the morning if possible, which resulted in my delay being nearly 20 hours. It was the PH-KZI aircraft, Turino Caselle to AMS on 22.10.14)

    Hi all

Slimey Emirates have finally given in and now agreeing to pay out compensation after the Jet2 vs Huzar ruling. I am overjoyed. My case has been with Emirates for about 2 years now and its finally come to fruition, however the compensation they are offering is not the original ask.

I got the email last night and I am planning to challenge it.

My claim included compensation for 3 passengers including a 1 year old, however they only offered compensation for 2 adults (me and mrs). Can someone please confirm if there is a minimum age limit for compensation? My understanding was that all passengers are compensated regardless of age.

Furthermore, my claim was the first flight as well as the connecting flight. Because I was delayed 5 hours, my connecting flight was also not the original one I was supposed to change to. The new connecting flight that was arranged for me was 5 hours wait, which added to the total delay to 11 hours.

Can someone please confirm if I should be getting compensation for the connecting flights too?

    Many thanks
