Hi everyone, recently returned from our holiday to the states, our holiday was cut short by a day as the flight was cancelled however the flight due back was delayed by 23 hours due to a technical issue with the aircraft Virgin atlantic from orlando. was kept on the aircraft for around 3 hours as the plane went back to the gate for the engineers to look at. We then had to disembark from the aircraft for around 2 hours. They then decided the plane could not be repaired, so Virgin arranged for hotels for 475 passengers, plane was due to take off at 6.10pm it is now around midnight, we were taken by coach to a hotel there were around 60 passengers at this hotel, we spent around 2 hours waiting to be checked in, by the time we got to the check in desk, they said to around 20 people that there were no rooms left. The hotel could not get through to Virgin we then had to be taken back to the airport, and only by chance one of the 20 passengers asked the airport hotel if they had any rooms, the hotel stated we are one of Virgin atlantic allocated hotels, finally got to our room at 3.45am no thanks to Virgin, can i please ask how we make a claim for the 23 hour flight delay many thanks

Hi, apologies if this has ben raised before but has anyone booked a Ryanair flight using their Halifax Clarity card and actually got Ryanair to agree to paying for a delayed flight but they are insisting on IBAN and Swift codes rather than just putting it on my card. The problem is as it is a credit card I have no IBAN or Swift code so rang Halifax who gave me a generic one and told me to give Ryanair the 16 digit number of my card together with the address. Ryanair are not accepting this saying it is incorrect but I have checked again with Halifax so I am getting nowhere fast!!CHEAP IN COST NOT IN STYLE...0

Chelseasjm, it looks as though you are due 600 Euros each for the delay if it was indeed a technical fault. There should be a claim form on Virgin Atlantic's own website but be aware the airlines are all swamped with virus issues at present and it might make sense to wait a month before submitting the claim as it is less likely to be overlooked, you have 6 years to make the claim!1

Booked flights to London from Scotland for April 12th but easy jet flights are all grounded because of caronavirus been offered vouchers but no money back is this right0

you need to phone for a refund, it cannot be done on line currently. Plenty Easyjet threads on the dedicated covid-19 travel board0

How long would you wait before chasing a recent cancellation claim? We were due to fly with KLM on 19th March, I've had an acknowledgement but nothing else.Signature removed for peace of mind0

KLM have been avoiding issuing refunds, only vouchers. The EU Commissioner for Transport issued a warning to all EU airlines last Friday reminding them they have to give refunds, not vouchers if that is what the customer wants. Having said that they probably have half a million claims to deal with and no staff in an office to process claims, so I do think you need to give them some leeway at present1

You do have 6 years from the date of the flight. Given everything that's going on airlines are struiggling2
