Capital One: Amount Claimed: £327
Offer: £126 accepted (every little helps  !!)
Well they replied very quickly, whole process took about 4 weeks. Letter saying they think charges are fair but having reduced them from £20 to £12, will pay me the difference. I closed this account a while ago, I know I could have pushed for more but hey it's £126 didn't think I had !!
Thanks to Martin I have now claimed this money and £290 from Royal Bank of Scotland.:T
Thank you so much Martin and your team. :money:
Successfully claimed so far:
Co-op Credit card £75.00
Cap One £200 for O/H
Barclaycard: £108
RBS: £290

HSBC: £338.50 for daughter.0 -
Bank: Abbey National Plc
Amount Claimed: £1155 + interest of £173.19
Amount refunded: as above, plus £19.82 interest and £220 court fees
I would like to thank everyone who posted information on this site and the CAG site. All your information was very helpful and I maintain that without Martin Lewis out there campaigning for us and useful websites such as this, I would never have had the guts to go ahead and take legal action.
Thank you everyone.
Pippa
BTW: I would like to make a donation to the site. Does anyone know how to?0 -
Lloyds Bank finally paid up the full amount I claimed which was £2200 nearly six months after I first wrote to them. The court case was due scheduled for July. Many thanks Martin and co.:j0

Bank Nat west
amount claimed £6635.58
offered £6200.00
Got to court stage through HMCS money claim-Nat west said they would Defend via Cobbetts their solicitors and asked me all sorts of detailed questions.
Opened my post the next day and found the offer letter.
why did they bother to get Cobbetts to send a defense letter?
Now for Lloyds!

Bank: Smile (Co-op)
Reclaimed: £265
Received: £265
Story:
Text book claim !
My first attempt and went without a hitch, had the usual decline as expected on first letter however on sending second letter I received a cheque for full amount plus interest within 5 days. All done and dusted within 3 weeks.
Not going so well with
HSBC - Not replying
Lloyds - Not replying
Alliance & Leicester - Replied to only 1 of 3 accounts held.
Will probably go down the court action route as each claim is less than £500 so hopefully they wouldn't risk defending claim for such small amounts (to them).0 -
Bank: HSBC
Claimed: £1,200
RECEIVED: £1,020
Sent them just the one letter threatening court action etc. Received their first letter a week later saying they were investigating our claim. Decided not to get 'lairy' like many advise, and just hang fire until the 8 weeks was up. Had a second letter prepared, but lo and behold, just as the 8 weeks was up, we received their second and final letter offering us just over a grand.
Can I just take this opportunity to thank the forum members who helped me.
And good luck to all those in the midst of battle. My advice is to be patient, but to get in there before a precedent is set.
Right then, I'm off (to the pub)......0 -
Bank: Lloyds TSB
Claimed: £4697
Received: £4697
Started my claim for charges in March. Bank sent 3 letters saying they were 'sorry' that i was unhappy with the service and if i hadn't heard in 3 months to get back in touch ! Time for action.... told them i would go to court...no response. Filed online claim (really easy) They then tried stalling and sent their defence which tried to belittle me and saying how insulted they were at this claim !! Not as insulted as i was in their charges and attitude. The case was moved 3 times to different courts. Eventually i received a letter from the court that more or less told Lloyds that they were insulting the court by defending the action when they had settled nearly all previous cases. They were given a date to provide more evidence..this date came and went..then suddenly the whole amount appeared in my account ! no letter, no explanation ! Anyway i'll finish by saying..stick with it..don't be bullied and use the fantastic template letters that Martin has provided and the Online claim service if needed. Great job Martin..Thanks. Good luck everyone !0 -
Bank: Abbey National
Claimed: £2065
Received: £2065
Started my claim November 2006 requesting £1278.50 charges. With interest and court fees on top I was asking for £2065 to be repaid. A week before the court date (27th June) I received an offer of £1700.00 which I rejected. Two days later I received an offer of full settlement of £2065.51. Just waiting for the cheque now!0 -
Bank: Lloyds TSB
Amount Reclaimed: £1554 + interest
Amount they paid: £1979
Started my claim on the 2nd of March requesting they pay me, sent my LBA two weeks later,I received a letter stating I was not getting any refund. As I am claiming from Scotland for over the £750 threshold I used a friends address in sunny England and claimed through MCOL, I then received a goodwill gesture of £750. On MCOL they acknowledged my claim but did not file any defence so I applied for a warrant which is currently still only saying issued. After a break away for the weekend I come back to check internet banking and find that a nice sum of £1229 has been added to my account.
Thank you Mr Lloyds TSB - You are very nice people :beer:Lloyds TSB - £1979 thank you
