I had a really nice surprise today,my bank was lloydstsb who i was about to go to court on the 14th august.I checked my account today and i had a deposit of £5401.73 put in.I called my bank and very lucky for me lloyds have refunded me.:rotfl: I asked for £5000 as a settlement so they also gave me administration cost as well.Has anyone else had a settlement from them.I must admit im in shock with everything thats happened over the last few days.I feel great. For anyone still trying to get their money back dont give up, i didnt think i would get to the end of it.Now ive paid off all my debts today,im skint again but i owe nothing apart from my mortgage, so all the effort has paid off big time. Thanks for everyone that helped me,and of course martin lewis.:T

  • Claimed £2300 from lloyds tsb.

Thankyou Martin you are a star.
  • Bank: Lloyds TSB
Amount Reclaimed: £794 including interest of £59
    Amount they paid: £750
The story: I started the process using Martin's letters on April 6. About 10 days later I received the standard Lloyds TSB letter explaining that the charges were in fact legal and thanking me for my letter. On April 20 I sent the next letter threatening court action.

It was at this time (April 13) that the case of Berwick v Lloyds took place and received great publicicty because District Judge Cooke found for Lloyds. My heart sank - but Martin's Moneytips the following week gave me hope. However, I thought I'd wait to see if any other cases were found in favour of the banks.

Then in the Moneytips of August 1 it was reported that there would be a test case and all claims were to be put on hold. I prepared for a long wait. But it was not to be. This morning (3 August 2007), a letter droppped through my door from Lloyds TSB. It stated that they were prepared to settle for £750 immediately, and that the money would be transferred to my account.

What a shock in the light of what is happening! I'm so pleased and it's all thanks to Martin. Keep up the good work.
  • I won!!!!!! Even after the OFT ruling last week, I received £750.00 "Goodwill Refund" (I was claiming £918.00) into my bank account today. I starting chasing in March and after several letters I received and replyed to, I got a letter stating that they were dealing with my claim and could I wait a while. Deciding to give them the benefit of the doubt, I held off court action but it payed off. No confirmation from Lloyds yet but the money's in my account so i'm happy and i'm off on Holiday on Sunday so got a big smile on my face!!!

Thanks for your great, helpful website Martin.

    Bank: Royal bank of Scotland
    Amount Reclaimed: £2300
    Amount They paid: £2300
The Story: We have two accounts with this bank and followed Martins steps to reclaim the 5 years charges applicable in Scotland. We used recorded delivery mail for all correspondence to ensure they could not deny they had received our letters. The RBS returned the statements quickly and within 6 weeks made an offer in full for the smaller claim of £560 less the interest that we claimed which we duly accepted as our original thought was to use the interest as a negotiation tool. The money was in the account within 7 days. :T
The second but larger amount took a bit longer as the Royal Mail lost the claim( even on recorded delivery) and we had to re-submit our claim resulting again in an offer 5 weeks later for the outstanding £1740 again less the interest claimed which we duly accepted:beer:
We were always prepared to lose the interest in the negotiations process and were more than happy to accept their offer as we have won a major victory by following Martins instructions to the letter and holding out for what was due.
  • Reclaimed £4,500
    Repaid £4,500

Got as far as Court sending AQ, then got a letter mid July offering me the full amount plus interest and costs.
    :j
Money in the bank 15 days later!

Thanks for all the on site guidance, and good luck to those at other stages of repayment. Time will tell with the OFT trial.

Unfortunately we never got round to putting a claim in with our joint account but we may eventually get some of the approx £1.5k back????

  • BANK: Lloyds Tsb
JOINT ACCOUNT CLAIMED: £2532 including over £450 interest.
    RECEIVED: £2532.

MY ACCOUNT CLAIMED: £686 including interest
    RECEIVED: £726

Started this at the beginning of April with first letter, 14 days later with the second letter. Never heard anything back so I called them up on the 20th May asking them what was happening with it and they said that they had no record of my claim. They said they would fast track it and the next day I received a letter saying that charges were fair, blah, blah, blah. I waited till the 20th of June and sent a complaint into the financial ombudsman along with recorded delivery slips and letter I had received. A couple of days later I got a letter from the ombudsman saying that they had contacted Lloyds and were awaiting a response. On the 27th of July I heard about the FSA announcement and was absolutely guttted, thought I had left if too late. I only hadn't done it sooner as it was such a large amount I couldn't do it through the small claims and because I'm in Scotland couldn't do it through MCOL. I read on this site about the ombudsman and decided that was my best course of action. Woke up on the 28th July and there was a letter from the ombudsman saying that Lloyds were going to pay up the full amount of £2532. :T Was dancing around the house all day. Getting new windows for our house and should be enough left for some spending money for our holiday this week, paid for by Lloyds Tsb charge reclaim but my own personal account. :rotfl: Had to file a small claim for that one, they didn't defend so I was awarded judgement. Took them 2 weeks after I faxed the judgement to them to put the money in my account. Hopefully the money from the joint account will be paid in while we are away. Thanks very much to Martin and the team and to everyone who posted advice. :T

    Claimed £9922
    Offered £9922!

Well, it's been a long road & still not over yet but FINALLY had an offer £9922!!!
Had to go thru the FO as they wouldn't pay up, glad I did as with the claims being frozen...! Letter dated 24th July stating the bank was offering me the full amount without interest, which I signed & sent back day before yesterday.
Once the bank has the offer in, i have to wait 6 wks for payment, but all things considered not too bad being as tho now alot of poor folk will have a long wait!

Alot of people on here have given me loads of support and help :T

If it wasn't for seeing Martin on tv then finding this site, I would be nearly £10k richer!!
I can now pay off what i owe & still have £5k to myself, which it staying in a savings account for rainy days!!
