  • You need to read the dates on threads before you gobsmack yourself!
  • my account is suspended do to non payment of a charge (16) for a parcel where the dimensions were incorrect. quite possible as i often guestimte the dimensions

they claim to have emailed me and written to me regarding this charge, although i cant find an email, i normally just bin letters from them as i do it all online.

    so my fault.

only thing i would say is that they could have called me requesting payment. instead of suspending the account, not a lot to expect when i spend in excess of £5000 a year with them

    Aitch

as often happens i entered the thread about half way through after finding it in a google search.

    summming up

i rate UPS very highly and booking through interparcel is a cost driven decision

Even so, the last post prior to yours was over a year ago.

My point being that if you want to see what is happening with a courier then using something a year old is not necessarily the best source. So don't be gobsmacked that so many people found it a bad service. It may not be the same today....
  • Interparcel were paid back in February to collect a flight case that I'd bought from a company in Kent. Interparcel sent City Link to collect it but their driver said he had been sent for a different parcel so took that and left my flight case.
Despite numerous phone calls and emails to Interparcel they refused to take any responsibility and would neither refund me or agree to collect the flight case.
I put in a County Court claim against them and the case was heard this morning.
Would you believe it.....they sent a Barrister to defend the case and the judge was not impressed.....a sledgehammer to crack a nut....a bit over the top he said for such a small claim......their defence was that their Terms and Conditions said it was my responsibility to give the courier the correct item.....the judge said ....NO.....it's clearly a breach of contract under the Goods & Services Act.........Interparcel did not collect and deliver an item that they had been contracted to do so they now have to pay me the £52.75 I paid them plus all my court costs......
Just goes to show that these big companies can't hide behind their terms and conditions when they get it wrong.......nail em on the Goods & Services Act.
  • Last Friday I had to send a very important parcel to my new customer for delivery the following Monday. Friday lunchtime I looked on the Interparcel site and paid for TNT to collect the parcel between 1.30pm and 6.00pm. I had to wait in all afternoon and when 6.20pm passed by with no collection I called Interparcel. Their offices were closed. So I called TNT and waited 20 minutes to be told they had no instruction to collect my parcel and I should speak to Interparcel. I found an online chat service for Interparcel and asked them if they were going to deliver the parcel on Monday as promised. They said 'No'. So I had to send it by Royal Mail at double the cost. Then I tried to get Interparcel to pay me back for their failure to deliver in the first place. They said no it was not their responsibility. Well...there's a hard lesson learned...I'll never use Interparcel again! :(
  • These are real amateurs, I can not recommend them to anyone. I waited home for two days for a collection that did not arrive. After the first day I was told that they didn't collect my parcel for "lack of driver time" and it would definitely be collected the next day. When I have booked and paid for a service lack of time is not my problem, why book a service you have no ability or intention to fulfil? On the second day I had a very lack-luster customer service assistant in contact with me who was politely totally unhelpful refusing to check that the collection was actually coming, which it didn't. I now have 5 days until Christmas and all my gifts that need to get to Scotland are still in England so I shall take them to the post office and get my life back from these idiots. If you were relying on these jokers for business use your business would be in trouble.
  • I googled around beforehand to check on the the various UK parcel services. Reading the various reviews it's quite clear that there is a complete spectrum of users' experiences so it was with some trepidation that I plumped for the InterParcel UPS combination.

Not entirely sure why there is such a divergence. If the back office system is the same (i.e. Interparcel) then differences in service must be a lot more to do with the actual carrier used, and of course all carriers are ultimately dependent on man in white van.

In my case Interparcel's service worked seamlessly, and given that there were 8 tracking record scans that must say something. In short I couldn't fault them.

I chose the 'drop off at local store' option so can't speak for any pick up service. The only small potential for a problem occurring was at the drop off where the shop owner couldn't scan the bar code on my parcel with his blipper and he had to manually enter the bar code. I did have a small concern that if anything was about to go wrong it would be here. As it turned out though he'd correctly entered the code and everything was fine.

In short I'll use again and am happy to recommend the Interparcel/UPS combination.
  • Placed an order on the 18th of April, today is 25 of April, parcel is still not collected. Missed collection on the 22nd as was at work. (really stupid that it is not possible to book some specific time and you have to stay at home/office from 9 till 5 to make sure that they come and collect it.). Booked another collection on the 23rd from my neighbours address, but still driver tried to collect it from my address (really bad organised company, not capable to inform their drivers where to collect items from). Nobody even came on Thursday and today. Fed up with 'excellent' service, called and cancelled order. Will use different company, this one is absolutely useless... Just waisted my time.

Just had a parcel that has been failed to be collected 8 times. After insisting to speak to a manager they said that in the small print they reserve the right to deliver a parcel up to an hour later than they advertise. However this was the ninth time i spoke to them and and on every previous time they said the pick up time was 9 - 6pm and never mentioned this BS rule.

Never use Interparcel or interparcel.com ever. A HUGE waste of time.
