Sorry to bother you but could you give me your opinion on the deal I got yesterday and whether you think I'd need to call them back re the hub offered.
Deal got:
-downgraded to BB Option 2 (from Opt3) for £14.99 with free wireless hub
-BT vision on 18mth contract (otherwise would have cost me £30 set up fee for a 12 month contract) - 6mths free then £4.50 for tv package for 12mths
-on landline £1.45 extra a mth for free evening & weekend calls.
Re the free hub - when I was haggelling and kept pushing she said the best she could do would be to let me drop to the Option 2 and keep the hub offered with Option 3 which when I looked on the web was a hub with hub phone and Option 2 was just a hub. Should I assume I'm getting the hub with phone or call them back to clarify or wait to see what arrives - or won't it do any good now that its all gone through.
Thanks again for all your help and advice.0 -
I would doubt youre getting the phone mate. The deal was about the best you can manage on option 2, so fair does and all.The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20

Thanks for the quick reply Drunkstar - appreciated. Its just good to KNOW you pushed them for the best deal you can. I'm happy enough even if I don't get the phone hub cause I got free evening and weekend calls anyways.
You have probably saved us collectively many thousands of pounds with your advice so THANK YOU :A0 -
Drunkstar - I'm very impressed with how much money you have saved so many people and am now wondering if you could help me.
- I am on BT Together Option 3 out of contract, paying £22.99 a month and BT Together Option 1 for phone.
- I have no hub or new vision thing and use my own wireless router
- I use the internet several hours a day as I work from home and my children and husband use it a fair bit in the evenings (sometimes 3 or 4 people at once) although we only download a few tunes or videos/month.
- We are on the limits broadband in my village and get nowhere near the 8Mb speeds, so feel we are paying over the odds.
- I do make international and daytime phone calls, but charge these back to my company, so am not worried about saving on these.
- I like the sound of BT vision - we only have basic freeview at the mo.
Any help gratefully received.0 -
Hi Drunkstar,
I'm not sure if you can help me with my problem but I don't know who else to ask.
I have recently renewed a contract with BT total broadband option 3 after being told that my line speed would be faster and I would be able to receive BT vision as well. But, although my speed has gone up to 6791 kb/s, vision are telling me that my line will not support vision do you know why? They've got cars big as bars
They've got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It's no place for the old0 -
Ummmm, all I know on that is that the Vision team will decide based on line speed and freeview avaliability. Sorry. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20

Can anyone advise me please? We currently have Virgin BB only but are looking for a better provider. I ph'd BT today and the guy I spoke to said he could set up my line for free, and recommended the option 3 as we download a fair bit and have the PS3 and laptop etc on it. To be honest, we all have mobiles, have freeview in main rooms, have internet security and our own wireless, so while all the BT frills sound great - we dont actually need any of them! So...Im wondering what their bottom line, BB only price might be? Is it possible to take the BT line and sign up straight away with another BB provider such as Talk Talk for example?
I'd really appreciate any halp and advise coz I've had enough of Virgin :-)skint but in luv :kisses2:0 -
hi,
i was wondering if there are different retention offers available depending if you email or call ? i emailed to ask about offers and was offered
"Regrade to new BT Total broadband Option 3 @ £24.99 (permanent price) ? 12
> month contract. Free hub and handset ? 18 month contract"
which seems a different offer to the ones that people have mentioned they get when they phone. not to mention the 10 days to reply to emails.....
can you tell me what the current best offer for option 3 is ?
thanks
