Drunkstar - I'm very impressed with how much money you have saved so many people and am now wondering if you could help me.
- I am on BT Together Option 3 out of contract, paying £22.99 a month and BT Together Option 1 for phone.
- I have no hub or new vision thing and use my own wireless router
- I use the internet several hours a day as I work from home and my children and husband use it a fair bit in the evenings (sometimes 3 or 4 people at once) although we only download a few tunes or videos/month.
- We are on the limits broadband in my village and get nowhere near the 8Mb speeds, so feel we are paying over the odds.
- I do make international and daytime phone calls, but charge these back to my company, so am not worried about saving on these.
- I like the sound of BT vision - we only have basic freeview at the mo.
Any help gratefully received.
Drunkstar - I would like to make that call to BT. If you have a chance, could you look at my situation outlined above and advise me on what I should push for.
Many thanks in advance0 -
cornholio, yeah there are diferent offers. Call for the best ones IMO.
jap200, sorry I didnt catch your question. I would say option 2 BB (8gb usage a month) should be fine. You can get that at £14.99 plus free router. I doubt vision is availiable if its a slow line. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20 -
Drunkstar - I asked this earlier but need more clarification. Is it possible to request a MAC code and also downgrade my BT Broadband to PAYG when the broadband is transferred to the new provider? If so what number should i call?
Do the BT COT deal with both phone and broadband or are there seperate departments?
Also think that if BT offered a higher usage of say 20-30GB on the option 2 BB more people would take it up. Currently there's not much difference between option 1 and 2 (5 and 8GB).0 -
Right, you can get your MAC and take a dial up PAYG yeah. Call 080080080.
And yeah, BB COT deal with phone too.The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20 -
Hi Drunkstar,
can i pick your brains please.
At present we are with Talk Talk 3 (free broadband) contract expires july 2008 and live in kent. on the 16th feb we will be moving to east sussex, i rang talk talk to tell them that i am moving and that i would like to take service with me.
Problem 1: they say that i have to take out a new 18 month contract, and pay £75.00 to exit the old one.
Problem 2: they say that where i am moving to the exhange is bundled so i will now have to pay an extra £15.00 per month for my broadband..
I think that i will have to pay the £75.00 to break my contract even though i dont feel it is my fault.
can you tell me the best bt package to be on.
The house we are moving to has a telephone line there but has been temporarily disconnected, bt said that whoever takes over can do the work, they can not give me the number so other service providers can not do the work, so it looks like b t have got me either way.
We have a teenager using internet most days weekend, etc in fact we use it a lot, can you advise the best deal that we can get, and also if it would be better to go online or ring b t.
Sorry its so long but it is doing my brain in playing cat and mouse with talk talk and b t.
julie xxPhone 0800800880, take option 2. Tell them you want a discount on the BB, just be straight up and dont !!!!!!!!. the advisor will put you on the new version of option 3 (normally £24.99 pcm) and give a £5 pcm discount on a new 12 month contract. They will probably offer BT vision for free as well.
easy as that.0 -

Hi Drunkstar,Just joined and your info is great. My bt together option1 ends in 7 weeks am paying £17.99 at moment. Have had phone calls from bt and email offering £14.99 on 12 mths. It seems that this vision is no good to me as my speed is about 600k (pathetic). Is the best I can expect £12.99 and a free router and phone. I have a set of twin phones already on my wired router. I`d like an offer on the allday calls if possible.0

Drunkstar
Can you advise me? I have Option 1 calling plan and this has resulted in quite a large bill. I have been looking at BT Together Option 3 (Anytime calling plan) which appears to say that for £5.95 per month all landline calls will be free. This would be a great saving - is it correct or are there hidden charges I can't see?0
