Sorry, missed it. :P
If you downgrade to a dial up thats fine, but swapping to another provider means using a mac (for BB if you want it to be uninterupted). Just phone up and ask to talk to COT (0800800880).The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20 -
Hi Drunkstar
Having mega problems with talk talk, just changed PC from XP to vista and having problems with modem. Talk talk support not helpful just passing me off to Microsoft and Dell. Contract up with talk talk and was thinking of going to BT. Am a pensioner and don't know to much about computers so don't want anything fancy just BB and free anytime uk and international calls plus router. Any suggestions on a package that would be ok for me and price please.
Many thanks0 -
Sorry for the delay mate. If you want BT I would ask a couple of questions:
1) whats your usage on the internet?
2) international, what countries?
3) do you want wireless? The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20 -
I am on BB option 3 and out of contract period with BT, i.e. I have been with them since the year dot and never had a minimum contract with them. They are now trying to keep me loyal and on board for the next 12 months with the following enticements; a couple of pounds off the monthly charge, a ‘free’ digital video??, and a ‘free’ Lexmark wireless printer. I have asked them to call me back a I need to check this one out.0

I rang BT monday to ask about a better deal for broadband on my contract, and I was offered option 2 for £13.99 for 12 month deal.Rang back wednesday evening to accept the offer only to find that there was no record of the offer, and the new price is £14.99 so I decided to accept this deal, he asks me a few security questions and we close the deal. The salesman then says he will now order my BT vision box and puts me on hold, then the phone go's dead. So I rang back to confirm everything was okay only to be told that there is no record of the offer or my acceptance new price is now £16.99.I have now got my mac code and seeking a new isp providing a free wireless router box,so much for valued custom been with them for 11 years.0

Drunkstar I wonder whether you can help me?
I have two problems with BT. Firstly, I wrote to them in mid December asking to have my telephone bill detached from my Internet Option 1 payment, stating that I would prefer to pay my telephone account quarterly and my BB account by DD (unfortunately obligatory). I have had no reply and BT have put up my payment again from £41 per month to £53. I live alone and use the telephone mainly for local calls with one or two national. I feel that I would have more control if these two things were split. Do you have a UK phone number I could use about this?
Secondly, I have been having problems with my BB connection for months. It disconnects around 7 or 8 times on bad days (good days maybe 1). I have a Belkin router and continually have to reboot it either by removing the power lead or going to the router page and rebooting from there. I have looked at all possibilities and wonder whether the problem could lie with BT? I know this is a bit nebulous but I am really getting fed up with the situation.
Any advice you could give would be really welcome!0
