Not much of a problem.
My main Email address is a freeserve account, remember those?
Just have to make sure I dial in every now and then.0 -
Phone 0800800880, take option 2. Tell them you want a discount on the BB, just be straight up and dont !!!!!!!!. the advisor will put you on the new version of option 3 (normally £24.99 pcm) and give a £5 pcm discount on a new 12 month contract. They will probably offer BT vision for free as well.
easy as that.
Drunkstar, you are a real gent! I was on Option 3 broadband @ £26.99 per month, but made the call today and got a new 12 month deal for £19.99 with home hub, phone, and Vision (with 1 month of Setanta) thrown in for free!
Thanks a lot and keep up the the good work - you are a credit to the board!0 -
My first post
I found this web site last week, and its fantastic!!:T
we have been paying Bt a direct debit of £50 a month and its always made me  , sooo expensive! So after reading this thread, I phoned them today and we had our option 3 reduced to option 2, as it was unneccessary, we got the Hub, and the Hub phone and I then asked for Bt vision, co I said a friend (not really) had been given one when they rung up! Yey
She also said that my calls could be a lot cheaper if I used this Hub phone, so instead of paying £18 a month for the 'anytime option' calls, we now pay £5 and get the free calls anytime,a s long as we use the Hub phone!
So, do we cancel our Sky package now cos we have the BT vision?
Thanks for the fantastic advice, even if I did steal it!

Drunkstar - How can AOL offer the PS3 for free, when they are only charging £19.99 per month, over 18 months it'll cost about £360 which is what the PS3 retails at, so they can't be making much, can they?
Do BT do a pay-as-you-go broadband service?
Also, is it possible to downgrade from BT Broadband to BT dialup, pay as you go?0 -
Glad I helped guys.
jimmyfloyd, I assume they have a deal with Sony to get them cheaper. But thats a guess.
BT dont have a PAYG Broadband. If you'e in term on the BB they wont let you downgrade to dial up. Sorry. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 20 -
Drunkstar - The BB contract has expired about 1.5 months ago, so does that mean i can downgrade to dial-up and keep my email addresses?0

Hey everyone
Thought i would pick up from this offer a lot of us took on thanks to Drunkstar. Mine didnt go too smoothly, the phone turned up two weeks late. I cannot have BT Vision as I was told the HUB needs to be next to the TV which isnt practical for where i have phone points etc, so no vision not that i really wanted that.
My Daughter has just had bt vision installed as part of a retention deal and had no telephone socket near the tv but the engineer plugged two boxes into the electric sockets ,one by the tv which the hub was connected and one by the phone socket which did the trick..sorry i don't know the tech name for them but i expect some one will.

Hi
This is my first post so hope I am in the right place etc. We have decided that we really need to save some money this year. We are on an orange broadband package (out of contract) with 1mb dowload speed and 1gb download for £14.99 a month. I have been looking at the BT package option one. Another reason for considering this is that we want to reduce our Sky costs(which are ridiculously high) so I am thinking about cancelling Sky, signing up with BT and getting a BT vision box. We would only want option 1. Does anyone have any suggestions about the pros/cons of doing this.
Thanks very much0
