Please can you stop using the phrase "comping Police"
I find it insulting
Thank You xxxThis Post Has Been Sponsored ByChocolate0 -
When the bump is to notify us of something relating to the comp then that's fine, purplex saved me from entering something that would have turned my stomach, I would never enter a comp for real fur.
Had it been in compers chat nobody would have know that it was real fur, who would come to check in here?
If it was just to say thanks or "entered" or great comp, drivel really ~ that would be unnecessary imho.
Umm good point except it turns out to be fake fur...Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.
(Wisdom, Courage, Self-control, Justice)
Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change0 -
But in this case the person who "bumped" was only giving their opinion based on the information already in the first post so they added nothing worth while and it was not a valid bump.
As I said the issue is we don't all agree what is or isn't a valid bump...Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.

It almost certainly isn't real fur.Umm good point except it turns out to be fake fur...
In all honesty I would rather be safe than sorry and I didn't see the other posts as I passed on the comp. Better to have missed a comp for fake fur than enter one that turns out to be real.A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others.0 -
I can't see any problem with someone posting on a thread with what they feel is a valid contribution to the competition details
posting 'please don't bump threads' just bumps them again, although sometimes BGs do this to a newbie posting 'thanks for the comp' on lots of threads
out of the thousands of comps that get posted every week it doesn't really happen that much so maybe the best thing to do if you notice someone doing it regularly is pm a BG who could then point out the forum etiquette politely to people who are not awareif someone has made a one off comment on one comp just move on and it will float down the board again nicely
