I agree the problem is we don't all agree on when a bump is a valid bump and the fur one is just one example. For some people real or fake fur big issue for other not so much.
But in this case the person who "bumped" was only giving their opinion based on the information already in the first post so they added nothing worth while and it was not a valid bump.0 -
You would have to ask the person who provided the info.
Even more reason for a post to be clarified then eh. Given you said last night, I believe, that if it doesn't say faux then it's real.. I didn't agree with that statement as it's not always listed clearly what it is.
Obviously now though you wouldn't want to be seen bumping a thread to put the correct information in though ..
I bumped it to correct the information given in the first misleading bump, if that post had not been made then none of the others would have been needed.0 -

Eh, you didn't realise yourself it wasn't correct at the time - they bumped it in good faith believing the info they added to be correct and useful (which is a fair reason for a bump) and now since you have found out it was incorrect, after arguing the point anyway, you are using that and trying to make out they posted information for no good reason!0 -
Oh my goodness!
I cant believe just because I made a post that's classed as a 'non valid bump' there is now a thread 4 pages long on what is and is not a valid reason to bump!
This forum is supposed to be a fun and friendly place to be and yet people are being made to feel like they've done something wrong.
Not nice at all.
What a way to make people feel like they shouldn't be here/should never post just in case they get jumped on again.....thanks0 -

Honestly don't know why I am wasting time on even bothering to answer - posts will be bumped if they need extra information which is not clear in the OP.0 -
I asked a question about comp sorting yesterday to do with filtering out comps you had ticked or crossed.
This function isn't available, but if it was then would this not be a way for compers to filter out a lot of "bumped comps"?
Just trying to suggest a solution to a "problem"(doesn't bother me) which will never go away.I am a Random Number!(£174)
2016:£14(venus),£50(WhiteHouse),£100(NisaNoFear),£10(SportsDirect)0 -

But the point is they didn't add anything, just quoted info from the original post and gave an opinion. An opinion I have no problem in saying I agreed with but would not have posted on the comp thread as it added nothing new.0 -
When the bump is to notify us of something relating to the comp then that's fine, purplex saved me from entering something that would have turned my stomach, I would never enter a comp for real fur.
Had it been in compers chat nobody would have know that it was real fur, who would come to check in here?
If it was just to say thanks or "entered" or great comp, drivel really ~ that would be unnecessary imho.A strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others.0 -

It almost certainly isn't real fur.0 -

They alerted a lot of people to the important and controversial issue of if it was real or fake and received a lot more thanks for doing so than the comping police trying to tell her off received.. so probably fair to say the majority think it was an important post.
I'm all for rules etc but if a post isn't clear, for the 100th time... then it is fair if someone questions it or adds to it in any way, you can't expect otherwise.0
