Welcome to our new thread :j
It's a New Year so it's time to shift the lbs and get the figure you've always wanted :j

Welcome to the place where we encourage you not to save £'s but to lose Lb's instead :D

So you wanna lose weight? Whether you want to lose a few pounds or several stone - you've come to the right place! :D Need a chat, a shoulder, encouragement and advice perhaps or even some downright silliness (even late at night or early in the morning)??

Pull up a chair and join in the chat, whatever plan you're following to lose weight, be it SW, WW, RC, or just plain old reducing what you eat and increasing the exercise, there'll be someone here that can help and advise, or offer moral support. The more you join in the chat more support you will get from the thread.

There are plenty of regulars here who follow all types of plan and will be willing and able to help you out or at least point you in the right direction.

During the course of the week, feel free to post your weekly loss, gain or no change, and see your results in a chart that's updated every Wednesday evening. To help me quickly spot the losses late at night, please post the loss as BOLD and Colourful as possible :) (Its helps those of us with bad eyes ;) )

The chart is currently maintained by me, so if you can post your result before 10pm on a Wednesday you will be included on the chart.

Also you can take part in the 5lb monthly challenge - This is a fun mini motivational monthly challenge, in which the goal of losing 2lb per week, is spread out to 5lb per month. To get started so get your name down quick and post your name and start the new list. You could be Slimmer of the Week, or Slimmer of the Month! :j:j

We also currently have a monthly team challenge so if you want to join one of the teams it's never too late. This month we've a East v West challenge. If you want to take part send me a pm with the team you want to join and your starting weight. Then post your loss (or gain) each Wednesday :j

Sometimes we also have a monthly exercise challenge in January we'll be aiming to do 270 minutes of exercise a week, whether it's walking or something more strenuous it'll all count. We try to make these challenges suitable for all levels of fitness to encourage as many people to take part.

A few abbreviations:
STS ~ Stay The Same (No change in weight)
SOTW ~ Slimmer Of The Week
SOTM ~ Slimmer Of The Month

We have plenty of recipes to help you in the recipes thread (link below) and there are links to useful websites below.
There are some friendly peoples 'Before and After' Pics on Lose Weight 19 and 20 :)

So come and join us, we're a friendly bunch! There are even one or two gentlemen hiding amongst us! You might even enjoy it :rotfl:

    68.6 kg today.

    That's - 0.9 kg from a week ago.

I don't think that's 'weight loss' as such. It's probably reduction in swelling, bruising, fluid retention etc from the breast reduction I had nearly 3 weeks ago. I was told that 850g x 2 had been removed, and the day I went to theatre I weighed 69.0 kg

I can't do any exercise at all yet, and, with the weather as it is, even a walk round the block is not something I want to tackle just yet.

    Good Morning Everyone.

My thanks to fredsnail for creating this new thread, I've made it sticky/pinned it to the top of the board.

I'll leave the LW 35 sticky for a while and then let it drop down the board.;)

    Regards

    Thanks Fred and Nile :A

I love getting a new thread - we currently have a 999 WOW factor!!! Go us!!!

Well it's a 1 lb gain for me this week. Not surprised really as I've not being doing much lately and have probably eaten a little more than I should! Hoping I feel better soon as I was thinking of taking my boys away this weekend. A good stroll along the beach would probably do me good... or finish me off, lol!
  • A disappointing STS for me this week. I had lost almost 2lbs when I weighed at the weeeknd but have put on nearly 3 since monday!!, something funny going on. Hope its due to TOTM and/or increase in muscle mass so hopeful for a good result next week instead! I've lost another 0.5 inches off each leg and my waist so I know I'm doing something right!
  • Thank you Fredsnail for our shiny new thread and all your hard work.:T:T

    Hi,

Since last Wednesday 5 hours and 47 minutes for the exercise challenge (indoor biking).

    STS since last Wednesday.

Gardening halted by the weather. Just one outdoor bike ride and also a short errand. Had an appointment so this was a four miles approx. walk too. Lots more effort to eat healthily required.

    Hi all,

Thank you for the shiny new thread Fred
Sorry I have not been around much - had a few days away and busy at work. Will try to catch up with the old thread later.

Another +1 lb My weight has gone up and down for over 12 months and I am beginning to feel I should just be happy with the size I am.
In fact I am thinking of trying to 'forget' about losing weight and just concentrate on exercising for fitness.

8 hours to add to the exercise challenge please Fred. My 5K 'run' is this weekend. Not feeling prepared at all but will give it my best shot. Will probably walk / run and hopefully not come in last:eek:
Good luck with the weight loss this week everyone.

jess~Might be no bad thing to just have a wee spell of concentrating just on fitness and wellbeing.
