Hello,
I'm afraid I am a bit of a yo-yo dieter.
I know that's bad but I enjoy bacon butties, curry and beer as much as anyone else.
All of you dieters know that it's really difficult to continually eat chicken salad everytime you go out whilst everyone else is having a good time eating what they want.
Anyway, I have started last week with a plan to lose 30lbs.
This time I am doing a sponsored slim fr a 9 year old boy that needs cancer treatment.
It really helps because if I am tempted I think of him.
I've also told everybody which makes it difficult to fail as I've publicised it.
I'm not doing anything special, jsut
1) having no snacks jsut stikcing to 3 meals.
2) Only drinking water/squash at work to minimise extra calories in drinks
3) not eating high fat foods and of course being careful of portion sizes.
I am aiming to lose 30 lbs and in my first week I've lost 3 which I'm fairly pleased about.
I have recently been diagnosed with under-active thyroid which I don't think has helped me recently and I've just started taking thyroxine.
I'm not expecting a magic wand, but I certainly think it will help rather than hinder.
I think that thining about someone else's concerns which are much bigger than mine will help me focus.
Good luck everyone.0 -
Is there one of these things for gaining weight0

Volunteers needed for before and after pics. Can use mine again, but i'm sure it would be nicer to see some fresh meat :rotfl:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

Hello! Thanks Sary - lovely new thread.0
-
Mazza I would put some up but I seem to have a lot of befores and not many afters which is bizarre as I'm no longer camera shy. Will see what I can do.0

Rats just realised that I spent so much time chilling out this weekend that I forgot to have a look in my cookbooks for menu planning purposes. Maybe the car not being able to get me home next weekend is a blessing in disguise - grilled fish all weekend!0

Thanks Sary! Good luck everyone during the course of LW29
Lisyloo I think that's the first time I've heard of a sponsored slim, best of luck to you and of course to the young boy you're helping too.

please can i join? am looking to shed 30 lbs
and am trying to attend WW more than a couple of times a month (but failing lol).
In Jan 2009 i was 30 lbs lighter, but after the birth of my baby in Nov 2009 am finding it harder than ever.
i have masses of clothes but none fit (even my fitness clothes), thank you fashion foke for legging but they're just masking the problem:rotfl:
Really hoping to stay motivated by others success - thanks, KP.4 children = no matching socks0 -
Lisyloo, that's a great motivational tool you've got there. Are the family of this young lad aware of Postpals? They're a fab charity, and organise regular post to not only the sick child, but their siblings too. It helps bring positives back into their lives, and really can boost morale. You can find their website at postpals.co.uk and anyone else, who might like to consider sending an extra Easter card, or even a postcard from their holidays might like to consider it too. There kids really do suffer dreadful illnesses, some get better, and some don't, but along the way they really love to get some surprises through the post. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
