i would look at it this way... if that was the worst thing to happen to the OP that day, it really wasn't a bad day, was it

I also think some posts are a little harsh on the OP. My local Asda doesn't require pound coins, it has a perimeter around the store car park so the trolleys can't be removed (no idea how it works, never tried to pinch a trolley before!)
My Sainsbury's require a pound for the trolley and shock horror I have forgotten my pound once before and Customer Services were great and took one out of the till for me, which I returned after my shop.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

I've read this thread not through interest but through disbelief. Disbelief that of all the subjects brought up in this forum - some of which are very significant, almost heart wrenching - the one that gets an incredibly high number of responses (200) is one about the most tedious of subjects. And to boot, it's been placed in the marriage and relationship forum. Why has it been posted here? Since when has shopping trolley management been a subject that results in divorce, suicide, anxiety, depression, comas, imprisonment or inclusion on the sex offenders list?
And the fact that someone has actually posted a story about it is beyond me. Has the OP not got a life to lead? I thought she was pregnant. Shouldn't she be preparing for Mothethood and reading the likes of Spock, Opie, et al rather than trying to involve us all in the tedium of her life? I have no doubt the OPs Facebook updates are along the lines of 'getting up now" 'having wheat-o-bangs' for breakfast' 'watching Jeremy Kyle' 'toast for lunch' 'off to bed'
This is just another example of 'I couldn't be bothered to do something (in this case, have loose change) and I expect someone else to sort the problem out'.
Give me strength.
Blimey your post is annoying..and I'm not even the OP. Shouldn't she be preparing for motherhood??! So pregnant women can't have a bit of a rant/discussion/post on a forum because they must sit at home for 9 solid months reading books about mothering
The bones of this are regarding the Customer Service surely...not just the fact she forgot the pound for her trolley. Haven't we all, at one time or another lost it when someone has just been completely rude for no reason. I know I have....
I used to work at in a customer facing role years back and I remember we got vulnerable people in all the time. Little old men/ladies whose memory wasn't quite there, widowed men and women. Yes customer's can be annoying but I think it's important to be polite to everyone. You never know what's happening in their life or how vulnerable they are. Had I been stood on the desk that day I would have done something to help, partly because she's pregnant and it's bloody gruelling at times and partly because it's about been a decent human being whether you think someone's stupid/disorganised or what!0 -
I said that on the last page :rotfl::rotfl:
Well done Victory, l can't believe nobody else suggested it. :rotfl:
(Or even that the OP thought of this beforehand but we all do daft things - then faced with such a predicament couldn't find a solution)

The supermarket I usually use doesn't require a coin for the trolleys so I have twice found myself without change in unfamiliar stores. At a Lidl (long embarrassing story) they produced a pair of pliers to remove the pound coin from the trolley they gave me so I couldn't run off with it after I'd done my shopping
At Tesco the customer services lady gave me £1 from the till which I returned after loading my car. Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I've tried to describe this thread to others and they're like... What, so the OP didn't have a £ and? So? So what? Your point is?:rotfl:0 -
Yes, it's very bad customer care. I think you should ring the manager of the store and say it isn't really a complaint but more of an observation as the member of staff seemed indifferent to your predicament. It's a darn nuisance when you realise you don't have the desired coin on you and it's all very well to say you should have had a coin. Yes, ring up the store and get it off your chest, but don't fret too much about it, keep a spare coin in your car from now on.0

LOL now THIS post has got to be a wind up.
Preparing for motherhood are you serious? Is that what us women are supposed to do?
I hope your OH knows how lucky she is. Her inside reading all about the joys of parenting. While you're outside dressed like a lumberjack chopping up wood for the fire or something else equally as manly.
Gotta love those stereotypes.0
