I just can't see it as a customer service issue I'm afraid.

For whatever reason, at the time you didn't think of the very obvious solution of popping to the cashpoint and buying something to get change, Fair enough, we all have moments where our brains let us down.

I'm wondering if perhaps you feel a bit embarrassed and silly that you left without your shopping when there was such a simple solution, so you're focusing on the 'customer service' to deflect?

As for selling keyrings, they probably do, but pound coins are even more widely and easily available, especially at an Asda!

But i kept saying how embarrased i was not to have change and to have to ask a member of staff for help ( which i never ever do) and she just ignored me. Never mind lesson learnt.

But she'd already told you she couldn't help and had other customers.

Another member of staff told you he'd be in trouble yet you asked three others after that. Why? Do you want them to get warnings???

Don't you think they've heard all the sob stories before? As far as I'm aware the trolleys have a pound "deposit" to encourage shoppers to return them to the trolley bays. If they hand out coins or tokens to everyone (and you said it was not your usual shop so they wouldn't have recognised you as a good customer) what's the point?

I asked 2 people, the trolley attendant and the customer service lady. I asked because i needed help, i dont take money out using my credit card and had that with me for my shopping, yes maybe i still should have but honestly didnt think of it at the time (as iv said)

She could have been nicer, when working in the airport i had about 100 people per day trying to change Scottish money to english which i wasn't allowed to do but was still nice to each and every one of them as it was my job.

Why ready it and why comment if its not worthy, 9 pages i was surprised at just thought a few people would say yes or no tbh - not insults

This is absolutely not meant as an insult, but your OP asking to blame Asda for forgeting your money - and this one leads me to conclude that you're not very bright.

No process could be simpler - loan a trolley for a pound and get it back when you return it. I'm sorry, but if that is too difficult, then you have bigger problems.

I didn't read 9 pages. I only read the OP and responded to that - as I mostly do on this public forum.;)

Asda won't miss your custom if you choose to leave.

So people who are disorganised, or not very bright, or have additional needs, or are just having a bad day shouldn't be helped by retail staff then?

It's a customer service issue and frankly, a common courtesy/decency issue. When did just being nice and trying to help somebody who has a problem become so out of the ordinary?

Ok, I apologise, I read you asked two people later in your post as you'd asked two more staff members.

I really don't know what more you expected from the customer services assistant. She'd told you, "no", there wasn't any point in carrying on the conversation.

Ok im a bit bored of this now it happened last night and as it appears many people disagree which is fair i asked a question and people can disagree, but seriously being called not very bright, need to get a life etc etc all over a shopping trolley is going a little overboard so think il retreat for now. People in this forum are really quite bitter.

    This here is the issue.

You expect them to help or be nice to you, even when it's out of their remit. For some reason you think they owe you or are obliged to give you special help. Everyone has a different expectation of what being nice is.

And when they disagree and don't help you, you think you have a right to sulk.

Clearly not going to convince someone who has such a sense of entitlement and whose keen to play the victim, so I'll bid you farewell.

Feel free to complain when next a door isn't held open for you.

I wouldn't say quite bitter, the thing is many people have offered up their opinion and what they would have done if they had been in the position you were in... I would have firstly got some cash because that's where the problem starts from.. Having no coin/ money on you...
