  • Would it be a good idea to start another thread (sorry regular posters and you know who you are) which just contains the Headquarters address, telephone number, and the email address of all Airlines so people have a site to go to Instead of trawling through numerous threads trying to find those details?

  • Hi I am looking for some advice.

My flight got delayed for 17 hours on 27/7/18 from Liverpool to Rome

Blue air promised us a full refund of the holiday plus compensation as it states in their passenger rights letter we received upon leaving the airport.

Our holiday was ruined due to the delay so we didn’t get on the flight at 10:30 am the next day and did not get any of our holiday.

They are playing hardball only offering us one free flight or £253 for the flight tickets. This doesn’t come close to the £610 paid for the holiday plus car park, attraction tickets and other expenses.

    What do we do?
  • Hi I'm emailing as I have yet to complete my trip. My return flight is from Manchester to Johannesburg, with a change in Paris CDG.

On my way home today, I was told my flight is delayed by 3 hours and 50 minutes (Google is saying 4 hoursa10) and that means I will miss my connection in CDG so they have rebooked me on a much later flight that wasn't fully booked. This means my overall arrival time in Manchester will be over 5 hours late. I saw last night the flight from Johannesburg was cancelled which is probably the reason for the delay and catch up, I asked air France what the reason for the delay is and the said its weather. As far as I'm aware there are no bad weather conditions or other flights that are this delayed. Where do I stand with this?

The out going was with KLM and the return is with air France to CDG and Flybe to manchester (all one booking).

I've been told this flight with Air France is frequently delayed by family with travel this route often.

You are most likely due compensation unless weather directly affects your flight. Download Vaubans superb guide for help.

As I expected we just got emails today from Vueling rejecting our claim due to extraordinary circumstances. I shall be taking the next steps once I've had time to look at Vauban's guide again.

BTW I think the idea of a thread or sticky with contact details for the airlines would be a great help. I know that I have spent hours trying to find contact details for Vueling.

  • Hi JPears,
Firstly so sorry for the delay in responding to your answer, I somehow missed it.
I read through the recent EC Regulations after someone on another site suggested exactly the same as you, so I phoned CEDR explaining the issue I had with TUI and mentioned the new regulations to them and they were aware. They told me to go ahead and submit the claim. I have now done this. So thank you again for the reply.
  • Thanks Tyzap.

It turns out I had already escalated to Soep (via resolver, but hadn't realised).

Resolver notified them on the 23rd August but they didn't reply until 9th September asking me to only communicate with Eurowings through them.
I've informed them that i've already sent an NBA and the reply from Eurowings saying that they still dispute the claim but other than that I have heard nothing else. I assume SOEP will just contact me in several weeks, once they have done their investigations so I wont chase at this stage. I shall instead prepare myself for a long wait :-).

As I understand my NBA will still stand as it just informs I intend to take them to court if this isn't resolved. Basically I reserve the right to still do so if SOEP isn't able to help.

This forum is brilliant, as is Vaubans guide. An hour reading up and I was ready to take this on. What I haven't been able to find though is any posts regarding people who have had success with SOEP, I did do a search but couldn't find anything. Does anyone have any experience of them? How long do they take to look at your case? I know they are proper lawyers that work on the cases, it's entirely independent but funded by the transport companies but other than that, they're a mystery. A good one at that.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Cherabelle,

The ADR companies are relative newcomers to the aviation flight delay world. That is why there is not too much feedback available, especially for the foreign based ones like Soep.

Some UK based airlines seem to treat ADR companies with contempt but there may be more respect for them on the continent. Hopefully you can let us know how you get on.

    Good luck.

We (there was 2 of us but we met on holiday) were supposed to fly from Vienna to Manchester at 10.20 am on MONDAY but the flight was cancelled and we were both put on a flight to Dusseldorf for 3.15pm then on to Heathrow then another flight to Manchester. We then found that out our luggage was still in Dusseldorph.
Because we then didnt get to Manchester until 10pm we missed the last train to Stoke station and had to book a Premier Inn costing £84 plus £10 taxi to the Inn.

I had to cancel my train ticket and was refunded less a £10 admin fee, then bought another ticket for the Tuesday.
Travelling to the station incurred yet another £10 taxi fee.

I received a call saying the luggage had arrived at Manchester on Tuesday afternoon and would be delivered on Thursday to Newcastle upon Tyne  and I had to explain several time I live in Staffordshire (about 30 miles from airport) and eventually they said the luggage would be delivered today Wednesday.

Having waited in all day I have just received a txt to say the luggage will be now delivered tomorrow Thursday.

Can I claim compensation and from who and for what does anyone know please. This has been so stressful. :o
