I had a delayed flight EZ5156 on 11/10/13 from Mykonos to Gatwick, the flight was delayed for over 5 hours including a reroute to Milan required to pickup new crew as the original crew had reached their maximum working hours as a result of the delay.
Whilst on the ground in Mykonos the Captain apologized for the delay citing Technical Reasons that required an engineer to attend and provided stamped paper work.
I wrote to Easyjet asking for compensation due to the communicated Technical issue who have responded with the quote below, in summary they are saying that the reason for the technical delay was a required inspection of the aircarft due to a "Hard Landing" which is "'extraordinary'.
Looking for some advice if a technical inspection as a result of a "Hard Landing" is EC, and how can I collaborate this is true?
Thanks all and look forward to reading your guidance and thoughts. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

I'd imagine that the only way they could claim a hard landing couldn't have been avoided is if weather conditions suddenly became really extreme, the weather conditions at Gatwick were lovely when the aircraft that flew your flight touched down
Even in horrendous weather there is a lot of reasonable measures a flight crew can take to avoid a hard landing.
Here's a link to the METAR reports from Gatwick at the time

I would hate to be the counsel arguing for EC on this one :eek:0 -
Daughter & friend flew EZY1974 PFO-MAN on 12/09/2010
I think I've discussed it on here before.
Anyway, as she's only 22I had to take on the case for her.
We played e mail tennis with EJ for a few months then, as she was out of the country, we sort of gave up.
I then saw the recommendation on here for Bott & Co so we handed it over to them
After only one letter from Bott, EJ have paid out
Two cheques arrived today - both for €400
Hand written cheques in €uros with 'payable only in Great Britain written on them (well, they wouldn't want to make it easy would they!!!
Thanks Coby and Bott .... as well as to all the other MSE forumites.
I will copy this message to the Bott & Co thread as well

Hi,does anyone know how I can retrieve Easyjet flights details? They are not showing on my account and Easyjet haven't been helpful .Is there something similar to a Dsar letter I can send them?0

Depending on how much detail you need? I had the flight number and times but not the booking reference from about 3 years ago, tweeted their customer services and got the response within about 5 minutes.0

Hi,I need all the details...I remember the months and years of the flights only(no dates/times).I thought that asking Easyjet to look into my account and email me the info would have been the easier way...but they don't want to play ball!0 -
Hi guys, we experienced 3,5 hour delay on 15th of October (this year) from Zagreb to Gatwick.
Instead of departing from Zagreb at 8.40pm, we departed at 00.15! We were stressing about our parking which was paid till 11pm in Gatwick, my partner was tired but had to drive 3,5 hours in the fog overnight to get us home. In addition, we were flying with other married couple. Me and our pregnant friend both had birthday and wanted to finish it (happy occasion) with a nice cup of coffee at Gatwick before parting our ways. Instead, we arrived at 1.25am to Gatwick and were too tired for anything.
The problem was - IT Meltdown (presumably EasyJet fault and in their control).
I tried to find different points of contact, but it seems there are non. The only one I found calls "Ask a question", but our text didn't fit in, so we just attached Word-document with the text.
I did not receive any comformation of my question.
Does anyone have e-mail address with will be a "shortcut" to communication with EasyJet or should I just send a signed-for letter with my complaint to:
easyJet Airline Company Limited (or Carolyn McCall)
Hangar 89
London Luton Airport
Bedfordshire
LU2 9PF
would very much appreciate any advice.:beer:0 -

Sadly, I will not provide the details.
I will just ask you to type Bott into the 'forum search' box on this forum to do as my father used to say ....

@J B: no worries. I Googled them, but find £25 + 27% commission from the total compensation a bit too much... kinda robbery... but for some people probably better than nothing...:beer:0
