Dowload Vauban' most excellent guide (google it) all your anwers should be in there. If you look back through this thread you will see the EJ are not above blatant misinformation and decption to avoid paying out compensation due.
If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

They should sue them for every penny they've got. They should also complain to the CAA about EasyJet's dishonesty, not because it will help their case as such but because we are seeing a pattern of dishonesty emerging. It is bad enough for an airline to refuse a genuine claim as such but telling a blatant lie is beyond the pale. They should also tell Which and the Daily Mail both of whom are running campaigns.

    HI,

Flight 817 from Edinburgh to Gatwick on 22/07/2016 was delayed by 1hr and a half then cancelled and no flight until following morning. Was made to stand in a queue for hours to rebook. I rebooked through app thankfully as the morning flight was fully booked when I got to the front desk. Was told by staff it was crew members out of hours and told would get 250 euro compensation. They have been denying thie for 1 year and refusing compensation. Been constantly emailing for 1 year. Complaint was escalated in September and was told to give 28 working days for response and not received one. Have sent another compensation request today. Any advice?

    Hi Nicole,

Legal Magpie's post, above yours, looks like it rightly applies to you too.

A read of other posts in this thread will reveal the extent that EJ will go to in order to avoid valid claims.

Google and then download 'Vaubans guide' for loads if helpful info.

It seems that MCOL may be your best next step, EJ cannot ignore that.

    Good luck.

  • Hi, thanks for quick reply. I have been rereading my emails and they claimed it was a strike and therefore extradoinary circumstances. Not sure if this will affect my claim.

As always, the devil is in the detail. They should have given you full details if they claim it was an EC due to a strike.

We need to know what they are referring to exactly because not all strikes are valid EC's, if it was genuinely a strike in the first place. You never know with EJ as they have been known to 'exaggerate' occasionally.

Have you used Resolver so far?

  • I've only been emailing back and forth and now being ignored.
