Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Easyjet ONLY

Hi, trying to claim for an easyJet flight delay of 3hrs and 40mins. We used the easyJet online form and have been told we don't have a claim as it was due to weather conditions, which was not the case, it was due to them having to get a standby crew !! We have replied to their response but had no correspondence since and that was more than 2 weeks ago! I can't find any contact info to take this further!
Any suggestions? Or anyone had a similar experience!!0 -
Perhaps repost this - and take a look at - the easyJet thread. Lots of good advice there.0

I had a call on Monday from easyJet's solicitors that easyJet have finally offered reimbursement via CEDR for our Alitalia flights and our cab to the airport (at 4 am, so it was necessary) as well as EU compensation! The deadline for easyJet to resolve this claim was the 25th and the solicitor called on the 24th.
It will take up to 20 working days until payment goes through, about £1550 in total.
I am never flying easyJet again!
Thanks so much, but especially Tyzap, for your help.

Well done.
As usual persistance pays but in reality with CEDR, why do consumers still have to fight so had for what they are due?If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Sleasyjet redeem themselves !!
In June we were delayed at Alicante for four hours. No body spoke to us, no drink offered. We arrived back in Luton 3.45 hours late.
I filled out the claim form on Easyjet`s web site ( you have to dig around for it) We had a reply within a couple of days admitting liability and about two weeks later £700.00 was credited to my bank account. Brilliant. Far more than we paid for the flights. I decided not to pursue my claim for £25.00 excess I had to pay to get my car out of the car park.
I would have settled for a bottle of water and a apology in Alicante.....0 -

Great news Julie,
Easyjet unnecessarily forced you to to stand up for your rights after telling you lies. As a result you will be one of the only passengers from your flight to receive the compensation that you were ALL due.
You stood up for your rights, took EJ on and won, so a big 'well done' from me.:T:T:T:)Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
And from me.
Doesn't Julie's experience prove that airlines should be required to pay compensation in all appropriate cases whether or not the passenger makes a claim?0 -

I think there is a good case for that.
Of course, that would also be the airlines worst nightmare, However, if the airlines refuse to play fair with the regs as they are now, then perhaps the ECJ should consider that as an alternative.
Now then, where is that address for the ECJ?;)Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.0 -
My daughter, her friend and their two six year olds were flying from Alicante to Manchester on the 8th July, just before midnight.
When they got to the airport they were advised that the flight was cancelled due to staffing issues. After lots of searching for staff to help them they were told there was a flight to Liverpool that was due to take off very shortly, they had to run across the airport to the gate to be told that Easyjet had given them incorrect paperwork so they would have to go back to the check in desk.. They ran back and eventually got the correct boarding passes and headed back over only for the Liverpool flight to have left (after being told it was waiting for them!).
They headed back to the check in desk and were told that there were no flights until Tuesday - 3 days later!. The kids at this point were fast asleep on the airport floor. The queues of people waiting to be flown home was endless and no one seemed to know what was going on. At 4am they were put in a taxi and headed off to a hotel (at their cost) to be told that it was an adults only hotel and they had to leave. Another taxi ( at their cost) back to the airport. They were then sent to another hotel (taxi fare!) to be told that there were no rooms available! Back to the airport.
Worried sick at home we booked and paid for them onto a flight with Jet2 for the following day. £450.00.
I spoke to the lady on the check in desk in Alicante who assured me that that was the best idea and we would be recompensed for these costs.
When my daughter has returned home and submitted the claim to Easyjet, they have said that they are not entitled to anything as the flight was cancelled due to the weather!
I have no idea how to pursue this - I had to borrow the money from a friend to pay to get my baby home and easyjet are just blatantly lying.
Any advice please?0 -
Hi There, I wanted to see what you opinions are on this one please! We are a family of four and recently were due to return from Italy to London on EasyJet. The flight was cancelled after the bags had been put on the plane due to the pilot having over worked his hours!
We booked a hotel, and took a taxi there for one night. The soonest flight on EasyJet was two days later, which by now we were told was fully booked. My daughter had a consultants appointment the next day for her illness (she is in remission from cancer), to check her bloods and give her the 6 monthly all clear. If we were to wait for the next EasyJet flight (which was full anyway) we would have missed this. So, when we get to the hotel we immediately booked the last 4 seats on the BA flight home the next day (only one available), and this cost us £500 per ticket. It got us home to a different London airport, but we were able to get to the consultants appointment and she got another 6 months all clear thank good news, :T
What are we able to claim - the Easy Jet flight which was canx, and what about the BA flights and the other stuff?? This has never happened before so i'm not sure.. thank you for your help. :starmod:0
