  • Hi.
I am writing on behalf of my Girlfreind who had her return leg Easyjet flight on 2/7/16 from Marseille to Manchester (EZY 1860) cancelled with no notice (other than departure board at airport). The earliest they could fly her from there was on 4/7/16 but this was to Gatwick not Manchester (flights to MAN were unavailable for many days and no guarantee of seat). She had no option other than to accept Gatwick flight (EZY 5324) and followed their instructions to find a hotel via their website, take taxi there, stay two days, return and take train from Gatwick to Manchester. Rough breakdown in euro 2 taxi journeys at 60 each, food total 80, hotel 150 and train 105. The actual total with clear reciepts 459 euro. She asked EJ for an expenses form and silence except for the 'We will answer within x days' so typed it all up clearly and sent her own version to EJ. This morning they e-mailed the following 'Having checked the details of your flight (EZY1860), Ican confirm that the reason for your disruption was due to (technical). Thisevent is classified as non-extraordinary under EC Regulation 261/2004 and youwill therefore be entitled to a compensation of (EUR 250.00=GBP 209.28) perpassenger.' I worry about this huge shortfall as on MSE site this figure is repeated for that length of flight. Is this EJ's only obligation?

This thread needs to be deleted as it has the same title as the official EJ thread. This is only going to cause major confusion.
Please read Vaubans superb guide. To find it Google and then download 'vaubans guide'.
