I was just concerned that I am unsure as to why the delay occured still and if I took it to court without them really outlining the full details of the reason for the delay, I could be going in blind (so to speak) stating safety/technical fault tells me very little and although I know most of these cases do not come under EC, knowing my luck mine will.
Thanks again for all your help.

Sue,
Do read up on blondmark's threads and the ESCP process. It is quite easy to follow. Form A is easily downloadable and straightforward to fill in. You may do well to get a detailed response from Ryanair regarding their reason for delay apart from a generic ' technical issue' response. I've never received any detail.Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.
Current known score:-
Dr Watson 35 - 0 Ryanair / Ince and Co
Go to post 622 on the Ryanair thread to read how to sue them safely.0 -
Not seen anything regarding successful claims against Ryanair. I wrote to them 1 month ago and have had no response. I have also contacted them by email, but nothing. 40 mins on hold on the phone. I have now contacted the CAA to see what they can do. EU claims want to take it on but would want about £75 if i won about £210 compo.
I'm concerned that a small claim might turn into a massive hassle. Any views?0 -
an unexpected safety/technical problem with the aircraft due to operate your flight. It was necessary to delay the departure of this flight until the fault was rectified and the aircraft was cleared for operation by our Engineering Department.
This is a standard letter from Ryanair. I got the same exact text even though my flight was never cleared as they sourced an alternate aircraft some 6 hours later.
You can ask Ryanair for more detail, I did this and they declined to provide them. I reported them to Spain's CAA equivalent AESA and Ryanair declined to give AESA any details either.
This probably leaves you in the same boat as me - Euro small claims form A.0 -

Thanks Dr Watson. I have prepared my letter of NBA and shall send it tomorrow. I will then prepare myself for future court proceedings and as you suggest read Blondmark's threads for background information.
Thanks for your help.

I suspected as much booogle. I shall prepare for court proceedings through Euro small claims court. I have got to read up on it and see what I have to do and how much it will cost me next, once they decline me further.
Let me know how you get on. You don't hear too many success stories on here, that's not to say there isn't any, just no one is reporting them I guess.
I will let you know how I get on.
Thanks for your help.

I'm just pulling my form A and case together. I know the limit is 6 years in the UK but I want to get it in this week so it's within 2 years so it prevents any montreal convention claim validity excuses.0

Thanks centipede. I was informed that ryanair also are currently arguing that claims have to be made within two years due to a clause I their own T&Cs, so I want to get my claim in. I've sent you a PM.0

Search for the Mcdonagh judgement - and the section entitle "admissibility": it blows these lame arguments out of the water. And if you want more on the two years point, search for the More judgement too. There is no doubt here, folks: this is just hokum from the airlines.0 -
