Flight delay and cancellation compensation, Ryanair ONLY

Thanks for your reply. The flights in the next month are more expensive than what I paid for my lost flight today so if I can fix a date, I'd be better of trying a re-route than a full refund.
Just hoping they are cancelled on Thursday, then I am entitled to a refund on my return flight as well. If my return (Thursday flight) is not cancelled, then will I get no refund at all, not even for todays flight? Ryanair sent me E Mails last night saying both flights were cancelled. Does this mean I can get a refund for both flights even if there is no strike on Thursday?0 -
My flight yesterday morning was cancelled to Barcelona, and I want a refund or some compensation. At the moment, I cannot get in contact with Ryanair on the phone and their website does not allow me to refund!!! If I do not receive a refund within 7 days can I claim under EU Regulations?
Or is this an 'extraordinary circumstance' that Ryanair could have circumvented ??0 -
Just a quick one
My parents who are in their 70's have been in majorca for 4 weeks. They were due to fly back to prestwick tonight (with Ryanair) but their flight has been cancelled due to the french air controllers.
The eariest flight they can get back is not till Monday morning. they are bppked on this one.
My question is what can they do about accomodation? Can they claim on their travel insurance or can they claim through Ryanair.
Also would they be entittled to cliam the 4oo euros as compenasation thrugh Ryanair.
Look forward to your replies as they need to move from their room soon.
many thanks in advance0 -
Never had a problem with Ryanair until today
We were supposed to be flying to Majorca tonight from EMA on a long awaited weeks holiday.
Being self employed it is my one week per year, temp staff have been employed to cover me, house sitter arranged etc.
Ryanair offices close at 6pm - at 6.17pm last night I received an email cancelling my flight. It came on my work email so I didn't get it until this morning - when their office doesn't open until 9am but they did offer me an emergency number costing £1 per minute. I waited until 9am.
After finally getting through at 9.45 I was told the next time they can get me to Majorca is Sat night - not acceptable as all arrangements are made for a wednesday return.
I've managed to get myself booked out tomorrow on an alternative airline at an additional cost of ap[prox £400.
If all flights were cancelled I would understand but other airlines are still flying to Spain - ryanair made the decision not to.
I beleive there are no special circumstances - other airlines are still flying- so it is their decision that has caused me financial loss, a reduced holiday and the stress involved in finding my own alternative arrangements.
I'll have a go when I get home0 -
Just out of interest, Ryanair sent me E Mails on Monday evening saying my Tuesday and Thursday flights were cancelled. On their website they say they don't expect any cancellations tomorrow and the one I was due to fly on tomorrow hasn't been listed as cancelled but because they told me in advanced that my return flight was cancelled, am I still entitled to a full refund even if tomorrows flight isn't because they sent me an E Mail?
Do I have a case to argue because they can't tell you it's cancelled then change their mind or is it up to me to find out the status of the flight even if they told me it was cancelled?
It's irrelevant now as I've lost my trip plus hotel money but I'm hoping I've not lost the flight money now as well.
I don't see how they can justify not issuing a full refund if your outbound flight is cancelled and the return isn't? They wouldn't pay for me to travel on the TGV to the UK, so I'm expected to pay extra to get there or loose the whole money? It's a ploy to get out of paying for other last minute expensive ways of alternative travel.
We'll all be paying for this on the added cost of ticket increases to cover costs they've incured.0 -

Watch Ryanair as (common with other airlines) no payment for alcohol, you must get receipts and I had a big argument with them re accommodation where they questioned my receipt as it had no VAT (IVA) therefore they were concerned my receipt was legitimate. Keep all receipts and only ever send copies.0 -
Hi I was hoping for some advice- I was due to fly from Barcelona - Prestwick this morning with Ryanair but it has been cancelled! They have basically said we need to fly to Liverpool tomorrow then get our own way to Prestwick at our expense-- surely this is not right!?? They have put the whole flight up in a hotel 45mins away in Saladell but no mention of food costs either. Where do we stand- surely Ryanair is responsible to get us to our chosen destination!? Their website and the attachment via email states that they would either make arrangements or reimburse our travel to chosen destination!! HELP!??0

Meals/accommodation are reimbursed by the airline no matter what the cause of delay is.
i thought that wood be the case re compo.
do you have any idea what sort of limit per night they put on the hotel ie would 100 euros a night be acceptable for 2 people.
i will tell then to keep all receipts for food etc and to claim when the come home. I suppose there is always the option of claiming on travel insurance bu they would have excess.0 -
didnt know could have got them to foot the hotel bill. we sat on our plane 3 hours last night before they decided to cancel it. 1 am in the morning stuck at reus airport. 4 very tired kids and no explanations from the staff. ended up trying to kip on the seats in airport as was getting mixed messages on what was happpening.
got annouced today to check in at 12, got on plane at 1 and finally left at just after 5 ..0 -
I am just after some advice please regarding a flight that was cancelled with Ryanair yesterday, hoping somebody can help.
We were due to fly yesterday at 17:25 on the Manchester to Alicante flight, we had heard about the problems with the French air strikes so kept an eye on Ryanair's site all day and our flight continued to say ON TIME. Throughout the day various other flights to Alicante from other UK airports were cancelled:
17:05 from Leeds
17:10 from Birmingham
17:30 to Liverpool
However our 17:25 which was earlier than the 17:30 from Liverpool still showed as ON TIME so it looked like we may avoid being cancelled. At 15:30 we set off for Manchester airport and messed about getting through security which took forever then into the lounge and our flight now showed on the screen as
Boarding in 30 mins....
Boarding in 15 mins....
Boarding in 5 mins....
CANCELLED
This was around 30 mins before we were due to take off but surely they would have known long before that this flight was not going to go ahead??
We then had to go through the boarding gate and back into Arrivals and through passport control which took around 90mins as there were hundreds of people who now had to go home, as well as a couple of planes worth of arrivals.
We spent £25 on a taxi to the airport then had to spend another £25 to get home! We then had to request a refund from Ryanair as their next flight was not until Sunday and we have had to mess about booking elsewhere for a later date
What I want to know is if we are able to claim any kind of compensation or at least claim back the wasted taxi money?
The most annoying thing is we were going to see my parents in Spain and I now won't get to see my Dad on Father's Day0
