Thank you for the reply.  We were due to arrive around midnight.
If the airport having no fuel isn’t a reason for any compensation to be paid I will stop my investigations.

When was it scheduled to arrive in ALC?

On the surface, the airport running out of fuel is not within control of the airline, so no fixed rate compensation would be payable.

When my flight was delayed overnight I put in a claim for a hotel, that was on 11th September. The last I heard from them was on 9th October to say they'd provide an update in approximately 2 weeks. Nothing since.

How long does it usually take Ryanair to make a decision on expenses reimbursement?
  • What's the email to send Ryanair compensation claim to? People saying it's not valid if delay was out of their control, I assume was within their control since at no point was a reason given.

Check the Ryanair website for information on how to make a valid claim.  Very likely a webform needs to be completed rather than firing off an email to them,

Surprised you had no information about the delay reason.  Seems strange to be three hours+ late yet not hear or ask information from anyone as to why.

Yes it's not an email, the procedure in on Ryanair's website somewhere.

My claim was for a hotel reimbursement. Ryanair refused my claim. I appealed via their designated website -

...and of course Ryanair refused the appeal, saying that hotels and transport were arranged for all passengers. This was an outright lie. I responded as such and Ryanair then allowed the claim and I was eventually paid.

They will do anything they can to avoid paying out. Don't give up.
