Thomson have just paid me up. Received a cheque today for £1,750. We were delayed back in 2010. Did not have to take them to court, just kept sending them a letter once a month without fail.

Congrats on your final victory, like Vauban has said, how much did it cost you in postage?:DAfter reading PtL Vaubans Guide , please don't desert us, hang around and help others!
Hi, we’ve had to remove part of your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
They usually do ask for a booking reference but it's not essential. It just helps them to accept that you were on the flight. The longer that has elapsed since the flight the more difficult it is but any documentary evidence will do. If you have absolutely nothing, it's more difficult as it becomes "he says, she says".0

Hi,
Does anyone have a contact number for their legal department?
Thanks0 -
I just got an email from my solicitors telling me Thomson have agreed my claim, and I should be paid out in due course.0

Great news, well done.
Hope you don't have a long wait for your money.
Thanks. I've filled the bank form in so I can just sit back and wait.
Just a pity that when the event took place last December the exchange rate was so much better than it is now.
Then it was around 1 EUR = 0.77 GBP
Now it is 1 EUR = 0.70 GBP
So in eight months it's lost about 10% of its value.
On the other hand I appreciate where currency exchange is concerned there are always winners and losers, just one of those things.0 -
It took just 4 working days from contacting the CAA to getting a yes from Thompson having refused my claim back in March, The NWNF co got no where and surprisingly agreed they would not be charging any fees! Thompson have confirmed a chq for £844.96 will be with me with in 28 days.
So any one refused by any airline contact the CAA wish i had gone down that route first of all, but we learn by our mistakes.:j0 -
sandramay - from the collective decades of experience on this forum, yours is an exception from the norm. But congratulations all the sameIf you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

It does sound as if the CAA are starting to get tougher, perhaps as a result of all the (deserved) criticism that has been heaped on them in the past0
